Insight Global is looking for an inside machinist at the journeyman or specialized level that can, not only operate CNC and manual Lathes and Mill machines but can set up the machine from start to finish. After a 3-week training period and safety courses, the inside machinist will be assigned to a specific machine (Manual Lathes, Manual Mill, CNC Lathes or CNC Mill) and will be giving a specific project. The project could last a few hours or a few weeks depending on what item they are assigned to. They could be working with material that is 2 feet long or 10 feet long. Most of the material they will be working with will be stainless steel with a little bit of aluminum and copper. Onsite there will be a CNC programmer so the inside machinist will need to have knowledge of G&M codes but does not need to have the programming knowledge. Once they finish one project, they will move on to the next project.

The Role
(CNC) Machinists operate various machines (manual and/or CNC) such as; lathes, mills, vertical machining centers, horizontal boring mills, etc. Inside machinists troubleshoot operations and take appropriate actions to correct. The machinists perform quality inspections, verifying dimensions of work piece are in accordance with drawing specifications.

Responsibilities
Set up, operate, and maintain CNC machines to produce high-quality parts according to specifications.
Interpret and read technical drawings and blueprints.
Perform regular inspections using precision measuring tools to ensure accuracy.
Make necessary adjustments to tooling and machining parameters for optimal performance.
Conduct routine maintenance on CNC machines and report any issues to management.
Adhere to all safety protocols and maintain a clean working environment.
Collaborate with team members and engineers to optimize processes and improve overall efficiency.
Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining preferred.
Proven experience as a CNC Machinist, with expertise in operating CNC lathes and mills.
Strong understanding of G-code programming and CNC machine setup.
Proficient in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Experience with precision measuring instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Strong problem-solving abilities and mechanical aptitude.
Ability to work well in a team and communicate effectively.
Flexibility to work shifts and overtime as needed.

Computer numerical controller machinist job in Chesapeake, VA
Hourly 28-30/hr w/ 2nd Shift 10% differential General Scope: Ability to operate and setup all types of CNC, NC, and conventional machines. (NIGHT SHIFT) - Load tools in machine that have been pre-set in tool room. - Load program in machine control.
- Take test cut and measure before finish machining.
- Adjust machine settings, according to blueprints, if necessary.
- Check and change tooling.
- Adjust speeds and feeds as needed.
- Must be able to run conventional machines as well with proficiency.
- Must have the ability to make and edit programs without programmer assistance.
- Perform minor machine maintenance such as oil, filter and coolant levels, removal of chips from machine.

Skills and Requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Education: Three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Knowledge of the Metric System/ Standard System.
Skills: Incumbent must demonstrate or participate in internal/external training programs to obtain the following skills:
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
- Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
- Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
- Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
- Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
- Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
- Must be able to operate and read precise measuring instruments associated with the job.
