Full Time Monday-Friday-7:30am - 4:00pm Starting wage dependent on experience. Position Overview: Working in machine shops and manufacturing spaces to create precise tools and parts for mechanical equipment and objects. A machinist is a trained tradesperson with the skills and knowledge to create tools, parts, and objects by operating milling and drilling machines, grinders, and lathes in a machine shop. Essential Job Functions: Machine parts to close tolerances in a safe manner to produce quality parts. Set-up, adjust, and operate Manual/CNC machine tools. Select the appropriate machines, cutting tools, and materials to be used in preparation of machining work. Troubleshoot tooling for operation and specification requirements. Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, and materials onto machines. Calculate dimensions and tolerances using knowledge of shop mathematics. Measure, examine and test completed parts to detect any defects and ensure conformance to product specifications using calibrated measuring instruments. Maintain industrial machinery as required. Perform regularly scheduled equipment maintenance. Sharpen and repair as needed to maintain existing tooling. Determine the sequence of machine operations and select proper cutting tools needed to produce parts per specification. Complete paperwork Utilize the current ERP system to report labor time, production, and scrap/failures for each sequence of their assigned work order as part of the work order system. Any other tasks assigned to the employee by management whether written or verbal. Required Qualifications: Trade School with apprentice training or 1-3 years on the job experience. Must be able to read blueprints and utilize a wide variety of measurement instruments to check parts and to verify compliance to quality specifications. Must demonstrate competence with tool room equipment.

Provide expertise in machining parts from prints and sample parts. Assist the other machinist as required. QC prints and parts as required. Essential Functions: Provide high-level expertise in machining. Competencies: Communication skills. Operation of manual lathes, mills, VTL, horizontal mills, surface grinder, drill press, and other hand tools Use of precision measuring equipment. Product knowledge. Supervisory Responsibility: This position is responsible for assisting the other machinist in the shop as required. Work Environment: This job operates in a professional office, shop, and field environment. Will be using a desktop computer, cell phone, various hand tools, and electrical equipment. Physical Demands: The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to lift heavy materials. The employee should be able to talk and hear. Position Type/Expected Hours of Work: This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday. Occasional evening and weekend work may be required as job duties demand. Travel: Very little travel is expected for this position; however, travel could be possible. Required Education and Experience: Must have 10 plus years of related pump machining experience.
