First Shift: 7:00am-3:30pm $40.00 - $48.00 Hr. Reporting directly to the Machining Manager, the CNC Programmer works with the machining team to set-up and program different jobs to support production requirements. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Programs, sets up, and operates CNC milling, lathes, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications and available equipment.
Programs for operation of CNC Router (Multicam 5000) for other members of machining team.
Utilizes G-Code, Camworks, SolidWorks, or other CAM software.
Reviews solid models, drawings, and customer specifications to understand customer requirements.
Selects appropriate machines (e.g. lathes, mills) and proper set-up of material for job.
Producing quality parts according to the blueprints and company quality standards.
Maintains equipment by completing preventative maintenance requirements
Ensure all safety guidelines at all times and maintains a clean environment.
Perform other duties as assigned.
GENERAL
Programs different materials for production by machining team.
Maintains a clean and organized work area and general housekeeping
TYPICAL EQUIPMENT USED:
Computer utilizing Camworks/Solidworks software
3 or more axis machining center
Various hand tools
Tape measures, calipers and other measuring devices
Carts, dollies and other heavy weight moving equipment
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES
High school diploma or equivalent required. Completion of vocational training preferred.
5+ years of industry-related experience in lieu of education.
Demonstrated understanding of tool holders and tool types.
Demonstrated understanding of differing feed and speed settings.
Demonstrated understanding of tool path following/alternative paths.
Experience on CNC router Multicam and others CNC Milling machine is a plus ( Haas, Campro with Fanuc control).
Working knowledge of 3D CAD/CAM, Camworks, SolidWorks is a plus.
Working knowledge of writing and evaluating G-Code.
Ability to accurately use and interpret measuring equipment including precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements.
Ability to interpret dimensions and tolerances.
Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals utilizing GD&T.
Ability to operate & enter data into standard Windows based computers
Good verbal and written communication skills

JOB PURPOSE

JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Essential Job Functions:
Restore components by operating manual lathes, Bridgeport's, Hurco and Okuma.
Measure and examine completed parts to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications using precision instruments such as calipers and micrometers.
Uses OEM prints and design sketches to ensure proper outcome of repair.
Relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.
May also fabricate or modify fixtures and maintain industrial machines, applying knowledge of mechanics, shop mathematics, metal working, layout, lapping and cleaning procedures.
Become fully trained and fluent on all parts with all machines.
Follow AWT's FAA Quality System.
Repair customer parts with care, craftsmanship and quality in a timely manner to meet the production schedule.
Machine parts using required fixtures in accordance with the manufacturer's technical data and company procedures.
Work in other areas as needed.
Maintain a clean and safe work area and comply with all preventative maintenance schedules.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Must have a minimum of 5 years' experience.

1-3 years of experience in CNC machine operation
o Demonstrated understanding of tool holders and tool types
o Demonstrated understanding of differing feed and speed settings
o Demonstrated understanding of tool path following/alternative paths

Ability to operate & enter data into standard Windows based computers

Mechanical aptitude
Process understanding on issues relating to mixing ingredients to make products
Ability to operate equipment (mixers, transfer tanks, ovens, saw, planer, lathe, milling, tumbler, dust collector, hand tools, fork lift)
Ability to read and understand QC inspection documentation
Visual acuity to identify surface quality defects 1/32" and larger
WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL DEMANDS
Must be able to frequently lift and move up to 50 pounds
Regular exposure to noise, dust, high heat and chemicals
Regular exposure to fumes or airborne particles
Frequent reaching with hands and arms
Constant standing and use of hands while performing essential functions of the job
