Summary of Job:
We are currently looking for a CNC Machinist. This role includes programming, editing, and performing complex set ups and operate various metal working equipment to produce precision machined components to print as instructed by lead or supervision.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Expertly use most hand, manual, and automatic machinery, fixturing and precision measuring equipment to complete departmental assignments.
Maintain knowledge of additional pieces of equipment
Program machine, fixturing, material, and paperwork preparation such as sharpening, locating, verifying, programming, editing, etc.
Set up and proof CNC machines for runs to achieve a first piece quality product
Set-up Times and Run Times; monitor for accuracy and feedback necessary changes to programmer/lead/supervisor.
Monitor condition of job specific tooling or holding fixtures, make authorized changes.
Setup machines for Machine Operator I, II, and/or III.
Keep waste low, minimize scrap, use labor efficiently, and account for all parts on jobs.
Operate machinery above company standards for both time and quality
Suggest and implement improvements to machining processes.
Improve on product through-put via additional operations such as multiple machine operation, deburring, cleaning, etc. whenever possible.
Keep machinery and work area in a clean, safe, maintained, and organized.
Assist in other areas in order to meet the production needs of Essex and its customers.
Comply with all PPE and machine guarding as necessary with each job.
Requirements
This opportunity is for the 1st shift with 3-5 years of shop experience and completion of a 2-year trade school program, or equivalent demonstrated proficiency.
The pay for this position starts at a minimum of $27.34/hr. when the minimum job requirements are met and goes up based upon a candidate's experience and qualifications in a similar role. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on company performance.
Second shift positions include a 10% shift differential, which will be added to the employee's regular hourly compensation.

Position Summary
The CNC Machinist will operate industrial devices that generate manufactured parts. Essential skills are technical knowledge, setting up, and operating a CNC machine. While maintaining quality and safety standards; keeping records; and maintaining equipment and supplies.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Operate equipment such as CNC machines, milling machines, and end mills to produce manufactured parts primarily out of aluminum and titanium.
Take measurements to adequately ensure the accurate set-up, with the use of tools such as; gauges, calipers, indicators and micrometers.
Maintains specifications by observing drilling and cutting; taking measurements; detecting malfunctions; troubleshooting processes; adjusting controls; replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes.
Set up and trouble shoot 5-axis machines for large complex parts.
Other duties as assigned.
Position Requirements
High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Certification from an accredited technical college a plus
Minimum 1 year of progressively responsible milling experience, aerospace industry is a plus.
Possess basic math and geometry knowledge with elementary knowledge of engineering principals helpful.
Be able to read blueprints, follow work order and verbal instructions.
Physical and Environmental Demands
Manufacturing environment may be exposed to noise levels, dust, grime and heat. Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment.

* At times may be required to work overtime to support the manufacturing requirements.
* Must have the ability to trouble shoot and solve problems dealing with machine, tooling, and program malfunction and solve everyday problems.
* Must be able to manage time and work well in a team environment.
Basic Qualifications:
* Two or more years of experience in a manufacturing environment: multi-axis CNC machining experience, ability to program CNC machines with Fanuc, Siemens or other controllers.
* Strong working knowledge of machining principles; basic SPC, blueprint reading; understanding of geometric tolerances; ability to interpret CMM reports; quality data; and work experience in a lean manufacturing environment.
* Must pass CNC skills assessment in order to win position
* Required to stay in section for 12 months except for a promotion or nights to days move
Physical Requirements:
* Candidates for all positions must have the ability to work in a fast pace, medium to heavy duty assembly, technical environment.
