The role of Lead Machinist is to support achieving quality and productivity expectations for each shift's machinists. The Lead CNC Machinist supports production changeovers and recovery, interprets detailed blueprints, ensures quality, and coaches and trains others to do the same.
Responsibilities

Perform a wide variety of duties to assist in the repair, maintenance, and creation of single operation and progressive dies. Work on all types of dies, jigs, fixtures. Work with various types of tools. Operate Lathes, Mills, Grinders, and other tool room equipment.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
List what the person must do to perform the job to meet standards.
* Works from prints, specifications, charts, formulae, drawings, sketches, written and verbal orders, instructions, and requests
* Uses precision measuring instruments to calculate dimensions and tolerances using. These instruments include but are not limited to micrometers, vernier calipers, depth and various other gauges, indicators, rule, square, surface plate, and also a wide variety of hand tools.
* Perform inspections using micrometers, calipers, scales, and indicators.
* Sets up and operates a normal range of machinery and equipment such as but not limited to: single and multi-spindled drill presses, surface and wet grinders, saw, lathes, milling machines and other similar type machines
* Selects, adjusts, changes, replaces and sharpens tools, cutters, holders, jigs, fixtures, etc
* Adjusts speeds, feeds, travel of parts; set and adjust stops, limits, guides, etc
* Fabricates various die parts, sections, inserts, punches, etc.
* Disassembles as required, grind using special fixtures and holding devices, reassemble; replaces punches, stripper springs, stops, inserts, etc
* Maintains inventory of most commonly used parts, tools, materials, and items
* Informs supervisor of low inventories. Help maintain maintenance records for dies
* Helps with compliance to work standards, specifications, and prints
* Detects and reports defective and unsafe equipment and material as well as unusual situations to supervisor
* Observes and obeys all safety rules, practices, and procedures. Wear and employ personal protective equipment as required
* Practice 5S and maintain work area in a neat and orderly manner
* Performs other similar or related duties as required or requested
Position Requirements:
The Machinist A must possess the minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities listed below:
* High School or Trade School Graduate
* Machine Shop experience preferred
* Strong mathematic skills a must
* Ability to read blue prints
* Ability to read a measuring tape
* Ability to follow instructions

Pay: $25.25 /hr. - $31.70 /hr. DOE
Shift Premium: $2.50 /hr.
Position Responsibilities:
Setup and operate Swiss Lathe in a team environment.
Capable of maintaining excellent quality and high efficiency in a fast-paced work environment.
Use precision measuring tools to check and inspect to close tolerance requirements.
Read precision measuring instruments such as comparators, indicators, calipers, height gauge, and micrometers.
Comprehensive knowledge of reading blueprints, ISO documents, and measuring equipment.
Operates multiple machines simultaneously.
Adhere to all Company safety regulations.
Knowledge of 5S and lean manufacturing principles.
Ability to work in an environment of oil, coolant, and chips.
Must be able to work in a fast-paced and team-oriented environment.
Support quality and compliance by adhering to all procedures, work instructions, and forms per the Quality System (e.g., applicable inspection, verification, and disposition procedures, and/or instructions and forms required as part of the process).
May be required to perform other jobs as needed by the Company.
Essential Skills and Experience:
High School Diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) equivalent.
Five (5) years CNC Mill/Lathe programming and operational experience.
Strong math background, preferable in machine math/shop math.
