For over 60 years, The Arc, Ocean County Chapter has been creating opportunities for people with intellectual and developmental disabilities. It continues to be a grassroots organization with over 730 chapters. All are committed to working at local, state and federal levels to promote and protect human rights and help people achieve full and satisfying lives.
We are currently seeking an experienced Director of Residential Services. The Residential Director manages all activities of the residential program at various sites throughout Ocean County. They are responsible for monitoring and overseeing the department budget to ensure proper spending. The Director assists in the planning of program expansion, modification and growth in future residential opportunities for clients currently in placement as well as those awaiting community placement. The Director oversees and conducts department investigations and manages the outcomes of those investigations.
The Director provides training opportunities for all staff and encourages organizational membership, subscriptions, workshops and conferences to improve staff effectiveness and efficiency. The Director will write/review Individual Service Plans for the individuals in their programs, and will provide feedback in the development of behavior plans. They are also responsible for staff scheduling, monitoring staff performance issues, and ensure the proper training is given to all new staff members working within their programs. The Director will participate in various agency committees and fundraising events. They must also participate in the monthly after-hours, on-call rotation.
Requirements
The successful candidate must have a minimum 3 years of supervisory experience working with individuals with disabilities, a minimum of 5 years experience is preferred. The successful candidate must also have a demonstrated track record of the ability to supervise, manage and direct programs. Experience working in a Group Home or Supervised Apartment Program is preferred. Candidates must have a BA/BS in Human Services or related field. Candidates must have a valid NJ Driver's License and must be able to successfully complete all required state and federal background checks.

- Oversee the patient experience to include onboarding, coordination of ancillary treatment needs, communication with referral sources and family members, and successful treatment outcomes.
- Maintain contractual compliance, program development, and clinical delivery of quality care, offering and implementing recommendations for improvements as needed.
- Participate in agency audits and implement recommendations as necessary.
- Build and maintain relationships with partners, funders, and licensing and accreditation bodies.
- Assist Program Managers with scheduling and timekeeping tasks for clinical and support staff to ensure complete coverage of 24/7 programs.
- Coordinate with training department to ensure staff maintain quality care and deficiencies are timely and adequately addressed.
