How You'll Contribute:
The Senior ESS Design Engineer (DE) is a member of the Project Engineering Electronic Security Systems (ESS) team and a lead engineer to Federal and Non-Federal design projects. The DE will provide support through the design project life cycle from sales concept to design development, construction drawings to construction administration support. As a technical resource on a project team, you will be instrumental in the determination and execution of client and system requirements and will collaborate with support teams to bring your design to life. Through our workflows, you'll have access to incredible technology and tools to help you articulate and deliver your design while being supported by global resources.
The DE will be supported and mentored by Solutions Architects and Director of Engineering. DE will maintain both primary and supportive roles on complex ESS projects through direction of the Director of ESS Engineering.
This role shapes the technical foundation and delivery quality of Diversified's ESS practice. Decisions made in this role define engineering standards, drive continuous improvement, and influence the company's ability to scale and maintain high-quality ESS solutions across regions. By aligning engineering practices with business needs and field realities, this role contributes directly to customer satisfaction, operational efficiency, and Diversified's reputation as a leader in electronic security system integration.
Decisions made by this role impact the Engineering, Field Services, and Project Management teams, with a primary focus on the design, deployment, and support of ESS solutions. This role makes strategic and decisions related to technical standards, process improvements, team structure, vendor engagement, and quality assurance. These decisions directly influence the effectiveness and consistency of ESS engineering output and affect how well field and service teams are supported throughout the project lifecycle.
The DE will report directly to the Director of ESS Engineering.
What You'll Do:
Contributor for complex engagements and works directly with clients and the Design Engineering team to develop specifications, designs, budgets, timelines and manage expectations.
Ability to speak to Federal Security System standards such as FIPS (Federal Information Processing Standards) and FICAM (Federal Identity, Credential, and Access Management).
Strong understanding and experience implementing design standards based around UL2050 and ICD 705.
Conceptualize system designs and determine system requirements.
Provide technical expertise and coordination information to support the architecture, installation and planning of electronic security solutions.
Develop ESS project estimates and proposals.
Develop the Bill of Materials (BOM) and support documentation.
Develop detailed 30%, 60%, 90%, 100% IFC, and/or Shop Drawings.
Research, identify, and recommend technology options for clients.
DE may have client interaction and contribute to the P and L performance.
Strong understanding of Internal and External project lifecycles.
Project lifecycle is important and learning the standards our clients are comfortable with is just as important as selling new technology and solutions where they fit. Theposition bears the responsibility to develop long-lasting client partnerships & work with team members to maintain the account on all levels.
Maintains expertise in the industry through ongoing review of trade publications, participation in industry trade shows, seminars and educational forums.
Provides direction and counsel to junior personnel in engineering projects and guides issue resolution.
Attend appropriate manufacturer training, attend or lead lunch and learn and continue online education.
Represent ESS Engineering in enterprise-wide initiatives and strategic discussions related to delivery, quality, and customer satisfaction.
This role is responsible for strategically partnering with subcontractors, manufacturers, and distributors. This position will occasionally work directly with enterprise and strategic clientele to foster optimal relationships.
Occasional travel to client sites is required to resolve project escalations, provide customer consultation, and/or assist Field Engineering with commissioning efforts. 25% Travel.

What part will you play? The Senior ESS Field Support Technician provides technical and operational support of Electronic Security (ESS) equipment and systems (Card Access, CCTV, CATV and Intrusion detection systems) located within the following types of environments: Business/corporate offices, warehouses/ distribution centers, data centers, as well as construction sites.
This position will also serve as the on-site liaison between the client, Diversified, and the other members of the on-site team. Diversified provides financial support and paid time for continued education leading to industry certifications and employee career development.
The Support Services Technician will be required to be on site Monday-Friday for eight (8) hours per day. Start and end times will be determined by Diversified and the client. Overtime may be required upon request.

What will you be doing?
Exercising advanced technical skill level abilities to perform routine maintenance of advanced ESS related systems - including preventive maintenance, troubleshooting and break/fix repair of faulty systems and equipment.
Act as the liaison between the on-site team and Diversified Service management.
Oversight for planning and implementation of process improvement principles required to maintain ESS technologies in critical areas.

What will you be doing?

How You'll Contribute: The Senior ESS (Electronic Security) Installation Technician is responsible for performing a wide variety of installation duties on technology projects for our clients. This position is the key field position for the bulk of the actual work that gets done in our clients' buildings. The install tech needs to coordinate with project management, field superintendents and others to fully understand their role on specific projects. They interpret our drawing packages to create the basis of the finished systems. The installation can include rack and enclosure build outs, panel terminations, device installation, testing and troubleshooting. The Senior Tech will be responsible for our most complex system designs, will mentor other technicians and set an example in all aspects of the job.
What You'll Do:
You will be expected to know and learn what is on the BOM for every job and know the material required for your job.
Maintain timeline of job schedule with regards to when devices/head end work needs to be installed and terminated.
If you are not able to maintain a given timeline, it is expected for you to communicate that with the site supervisor ASAP.
Take ownership of job schedules for workload given to you.
Prioritize your time properly and be able to manage multiple tasks at any given time.
Maintain constant communication with the Site Supervisor on a daily basis.
Point out any/all problems found on drawings/matrix to Site Supervisor ASAP.
