We are offering a $1,000 Sign on Bonus!

Job Responsibilities:

  • Work collaboratively as a team with all departments to ensure projects meet deadlines and AWI quality standards.
  • Performs material takeoffs and creates requisitions accurately for optimal levels of yield.
  • Demonstrates consistent time management skills and ability to meet tight deadlines.
  • Produces submittal drawings and revisions to redline drawings.
  • Confirms hardware specifications and requirements and successfully engineer's cabinets and fixtures for production using Microvellum
  • Demonstrates self-motivation and ability to work independently by successful completion of all projects to release to the shop for for production.
  • Quality control of drawings, checking to make sure they are parallel with what has been bid, spot checking for detail mistakes and making sure projects are drawn for fabrication.

Required Skills:

  • High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree in Construction or Engineering preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret architectural drawings/blueprints
  • Auto/CAD millwork drafting experience required
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office Suite, including intermediate Excel skills
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Time management skills and ability to problem solve in order to create detailed architectural drawings.
  • Strong understanding of shop construction techniques and CNC programming

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Degree in construction management, architectural engineering or related field required; or a combination of industry experience and education is preferred
  • 3 years of experience in millwork, carpentry or a similar industry
  • Knowledge of AWI standards and experience with working with Genesis, Pattern Systems, Cut Rite, Ardis and other industry related software is a plus.

Purpose of Position: Create accurate and effective NDS, Firework,, and/or CAD design for FTTH - fiber to the home. Create complete BOM (Bills-of-materials) for *** and non-*** material orders where applicable.

The NDS CAD Drafter is responsible for the drafting of both copper and fiber facilities in LUMEN's NDS system.
Prior CAD Drafter experience with LUMEN's NDS system is required.

Requires at a minimum a 10 Mbps internet access to be able to perform all required functions of this position.

Responsibilities:

Prepares Telecommunications drawings in the NDS format from preliminary design drawings and/or field sketches

Translates sketches, verbal and written information into CAD drawings

Organizes the layout of plans, details and units on the CAD drawings

Create splicing schematics and permit drawings to be handed off to the customer or internal permitting group depending upon requirements provide ongoing support for the permitting process

Review Post-Construction Red-lined documents, and update/revise client design systems with any changes

Update "as builds per construction prints

Complete LEEP documentation and PUN forms where required

Qualifications:

4+ years of Telecom OSP Design/Engineering Experience

Working knowledge of the telecommunications industry standards, practices, and regulations pertaining to the engineering of outside plant facilities

Knowledge of aerial, buried and underground construction methods and engineering requirements

Knowledge of fiber optic counts, fiber assignments and splicing schematics in a high-density fiber environment is strongly preferred.

Knowledge of Fiber to the Home and Fiber to the Building is preferred.

Familiar with general permitting requirements for State Department of Transportation, as well as other state, county, and city permitting agencies

Working knowledge of OSP Communications Design systems.

Strong organizational skills and experience with Excel and Word

Effective communication skills and professional accountability

Minimum of a High School Diploma or GED, Bachelor's Degree preferred in a related industry.

Must have prior CAD Drafting experience utilizing LUMEN's NDS system. Recent (within last 12 months) preferred.

Advanced knowledge of outside plant design for business-as-usual (BAU)
Fiber and copper cable experience
Working understanding of the RUS (Rural Utility Standards) coding process is preferred
NDS and AutoCAD experience is required
Prior experience with the following CenturyLink/Lumen proprietary systems is preferred:
Fireworks (1 year minimum experience)
Bidmaster (1 year minimum experience)
WFMT
MARTENS
NDS (1 year experience minimum)

AutoCAD experience is a plus.

Minimum 10 Mbps internet access.

Working understanding of the RUS (Rural Utility Standards) coding process is preferred.
