This position will work directly with Houston Metro personnel to safely disconnect, replace, and reconnect power systems for TVM units throughout the Metro system.

Schedule: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 4:30 PM
Pay Rate: $32-$35 per hour (based on experience)

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Safety & Coordination
Coordinate with Houston Metro employees to safely shut off power to TVM units
Perform proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures during all work activities
Adhere to all Metro safety protocols and requirements
Electrical Work
Disconnect and reconnect TVM power systems
Test and verify power connections after completing TVM changeouts
Make power connections in confined spaces within TVM units
Extend existing wiring at base of TVMs using bell boxes and blank covers
Perform low voltage connections on payment validators (PV) as needed
Conduit & Fitting Installation
Work with ½" through 1" seal tight conduit and fittings
Perform changeovers from rigid conduit to seal tight
Downsize seal tight connections using reducing bushings as required
Install ¾" through 1" rigid conduit as needed
Drill through thick metal using ½" through 1" hole saws
Equipment Operation & Documentation
Operate pallet jack for material handling
Use bandsaw and grinder with proper PPE
Document daily material usage and submit reports to Project Manager
Required Qualifications
Active Texas Journeyman Electrician License (required)
Demonstrated experience with conduit installation and electrical connections
Ability to work in tight spaces and confined areas
Physical ability to lift 50 lbs regularly

* Serves as a designated "on call" technician on a weekly rotational basis to perform emergency equipment repairs on a 24/7 schedule. Incumbent may be required to perform work on weekends and holidays;

Completion of a high school diploma or the equivalent with an additional four years electrical installation and repair experience under the supervision of a Master Electrician, or any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to a four-year electrical apprenticeship;
Licenses/Certifications:
* Valid current Class C Texas driver's license;
* Journeyman Electrician license as issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation;

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Plans new or modified installations to minimize waste of materials; provides access for future maintenance, and avoids unsightly, hazardous, and unreliable wiring, consistent with specifications and local electrical codes. Prepares sketches showing location of wiring and equipment, or follows diagrams or blueprints, ensuring that concealed wiring is installed before completion of future walls, ceilings, and flooring. Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles, and installs electrical conduit; pulls wiring through conduit. Splices wires by stripping insulation from terminal leads, twisting or soldering wires together and applying tape or terminal caps. Connects wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment. Installs control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit-breaker panels. Connects power cables to equipment, such as electric range or motor, and installs grounding leads. Tests continuity of circuit to ensure electrical compatibility and safety of components with testing instruments such as ohmmeter, battery, and buzzer, and oscilloscope. Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to detect hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement. Replaces ballasts, switches, outlets, fuses, circuit breakers, defective wiring, kiln elements, stove controls, motors, controls, thermostats, etc. Repairs faulty equipment or systems. Cuts and welds steel structural members. Drives District vehicles to and from work sites; obeys all traffic laws. Strives to promote the safety, health and comfort of students and employees in the performance of duties. Follows established safety procedures and techniques to perform job duties. **Primary Responsibilities and Duties**
- Interprets drawings, sketches, software, plans and determines best work procedures, tools, equipment needed to troubleshoot and repair problems
- Measures, cuts, bends, threads, assembles and installs electrical conduit; weld supports; install cable and duct banks; make terminations
- Installs control and distribution apparatus' and fastens in place
- Test and start up systems and continuity of circuit to insure electrical compatibility and safety of components
- Observes functioning of installed equipment or system to determine hazards and need for adjustments, relocation, or replacement
- May be required to pull wire through conduit; connect wiring to lighting fixtures and power equipment
- Work with high and low voltage systems

- Proficient in the safe and efficient use of electrical, hand tools, power tools and layout tools as well as measurement tools
**Requirements**
- The person in this position needs to constantly move about a construction/industrial site, so should be able to stand, walk, sit, reach, stoop, kneel, crouch, and/or crawl
- Constantly works in a construction environment and will be exposed to changing outdoor weather conditions
- Work irregular hours, weekends, overtime and holidays as required
- May be required to use ladders/mechanical platforms/manlifts/scaffold to access required equipment/work areas (may exceed 200 feet), so must be able to climb and maintain balance on formwork, steel formwork, stairs, ladders and scaffolds
- Move and work in and around confined and cluttered places, and uneven surfaces
- Must be able to complete tasks in a noisy and dusty environment
- May be required/able to move items weighing up to 50 pounds across construction/industrial site
