Primary Responsibilities
Work as part of the team to perform seismic analyses such as ergodic and non-ergodic seismic hazard, ground-response, and ground-motion development for projects in the Western United States, New Zealand, Southeast Asia, and the Pacific.
Lead seismic development of design recommendations for design and construction of private and public projects.
Effectively communicate and collaborate with clients, subcontractors, government agencies, project managers (locally and in other regional offices), and peers.

Requirements
Our Ideal Candidate
Thorough knowledge of Earthquake Engineering, such as:

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly qualified and licensed Land Surveyor to lead our Survey group and provide services to our internal civil engineers and clients located throughout Northern California. Final compensation will also consider education, professional licensure, and the full range of a candidate's skills. We offer performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions.

You will work on a variety of infrastructure projects with a focus on design, analysis, and consulting, contributing to the successful delivery of complex projects.
Lead and Contribute to Design Projects: Take responsibility for design elements on civil engineering projects, including site planning, grading, drainage, and utility design, under the guidance of senior engineers.
Develop Advanced Engineering Calculations and Documentation: Prepare complex calculations, detailed drawings, and specifications using AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and other tools; support the preparation and review of technical reports.
Conduct Site Assessments and Data Collection: Perform site visits to collect data, verify project feasibility, and ensure adherence to design standards and best practices.
Manage Project Coordination and Compliance: Support project schedules and documentation, and ensure regulatory compliance; assist with permitting processes and interact with regulatory bodies as needed.
Collaborate and Provide Mentorship: Actively participate in cross-functional team meetings, collaborate with contractors and consultants, and provide guidance to junior engineers.
Support Design Quality and Regulatory Compliance: Contribute to high-quality design practices, ensure regulatory compliance, and uphold the highest industry standards
Engage in Research and Development: Stay updated on industry standards and new technologies, applying innovative solutions to drive project success and improve processes.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
3-5 years of relevant civil engineering design experience
Engineer in Training (EIT) certification; PE license preparation in progress
Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and MS Office Suite
Strong understanding of civil engineering principles, codes, and regulations
Excellent technical, analytical, and communication skills
Physical Requirements:
Ability to perform site visits, including climbing ladders and lifting up to 15 pounds of equipment

Compensation
The base salary for this role is competitive, with a range of $75,000 - $125,000, determined by experience, education, and skills. KPFF also offers performance-based bonuses to recognize outstanding contributions. Additional details about the full compensation package will be provided during the interview process.
