This position works with all phases of this process, identifying existing wetlands, determining wetland losses, the creation/restoration of new wetlands, and the reporting of wetland losses from new sites. Office duties will include tracking various environmental aspects and commitments in a spreadsheet/database. Time in the field is spent identifying wetland communities. Delineating boundaries between wetlands and uplands is one of the main skills. It requires identifying a great variety of grasses, sedges, plants, shrubs, and trees of both wetland and upland habitats. It requires monitoring ground and surface water levels.
