Overview
The Engineering Intern position at Endeavor Air will integrate knowledge and theory learned in the classroom with practical application and skills development in a professional workplace. The Intern will utilize analytical and critical thinking skills to complete project-based work assignments with an emphasis in Engineering.

Responsibilities
Fully applies basic engineering theories, concepts, principles, and techniques to problems present by specific customers.
Provides interface with vendor and manufacturer representatives on technical issues pertaining to specific job functions.
Utilizes basic knowledge of the aircraft, performance, engines, structures, systems, and their components as it pertains to specific job functions.
Assists other engineers in the analysis of statistical data and basic engineering analysis.
Performs financial calculations to determine project feasibility.
Identifies moderately complex and complex issues and problems; actively and constructively participates in problem solving discussion and resolution; breaks down problems into distinctive parts and identifies priorities to address each part.
Provides direction and overall program management for engineering projects.

The main purpose of this position is to work with wetland mitigation and aid in environmental office duties. This position works with all phases of this process, identifying existing wetlands, determining wetland losses, the creation/restoration of new wetlands, and the reporting of wetland losses from new sites. Office duties will include tracking various environmental aspects and commitments in a spreadsheet/database.
Time in the field is spent identifying wetland communities. Delineating boundaries between wetlands and uplands is one of the main skills. It requires identifying a great variety of grasses, sedges, plants, shrubs, and trees of both wetland and upland habitats. It requires monitoring ground and surface water levels. It also requires identifying wetland soil characteristics. WisDOT will train the applicant.
Time in the office is spent compiling the information obtained in the field. Information from other sources (like consultants) must also be compiled. Information about losses and how those losses are mitigated must be communicated to regulatory agencies, the DNR and Army Corps of Engineers, to ensure requirements of the Clean Water Act are fulfilled. Detailed accurate records must be maintained to comply with the mitigation requirements, so some record/file management is required. Time will also be spent tracking various environmental aspects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Enter and use NCR/metrics to work on root cause and continuous improvement
Conduct site visits when problems arise and determine root cause, then report to operations and help develop new processes, and procedures
Work to develop new metrics to help with lowering NCR where needed
In another portion, you ll have the opportunity to work in our Field Services division.
Shadow a senior field supervisor and assist in the layout process
Read/interpret blue prints and communicate the work plan to crew
Use survey equipment to ensure product is properly aligned vertically and horizontally
Coordinate with dispatch daily for load times and sequence
Supervise the installation process on job sites
Troubleshoot problems that arise and help resolve them
Write weekly progress reports
Assist field operation managers with conducting early job site visits to coordinate start date, crane and truck access and project concerns with clients
