    As a Technical Engineer supporting Coperion's Material Handling Systems, you will leverage your expertise to consult on and design dry material handling solutions, primarily focusing on pneumatic conveying systems. You will work closely with Sales, Engineering, Projects, and Field Service teams to analyze customer requirements, conduct testing, and size equipment such as PD blowers, rotary airlocks, and filter receivers. Your role is integral in translating test results into actionable system designs, troubleshooting field issues, and providing technical support throughout the project lifecycle-from initial testing and quotation to installation and startup. What You'll Do: Provide application expertise to Sales, Engineering, and Projects by supporting system design, sizing, and testing activities. Develop expertise in pneumatic conveying sizing programs and conduct research related to process development. Conduct testing to determine optimal equipment specifications, including PD blowers, rotary airlocks, filter receivers, and ancillary components. Support customer consultations to understand their process needs and recommend tailored solutions. Lead or support system startup, operation, and troubleshooting activities in the field, often managing multiple projects simultaneously with overlapping schedules. Perform design studies to identify recommended changes, scope, and capital costs, supporting continuous improvement initiatives. Conduct safety reviews such as life safety assessments and HAZOPs to ensure compliance with industry standards. Develop standardized calculations, technical white papers, and process documentation for internal and external use. Support R&D projects by designing experiments, collecting data, and analyzing results to improve system performance. Present technical information at conferences and in front of large groups (200+ attendees). Stay current on industry best practices, new technologies, and process innovations related to pneumatic conveying and material handling. You will be part of a collaborative team supporting Sales, Engineering, Projects, and Field Service. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Process Engineering, or a related technical field. 7+ years of experience in pneumatic conveying, material handling, or process system design in a similar role/industry. Strong problem-solving mentality and ability to think critically. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other MS Office tools. Ability to interpret technical data, drawings, and specifications. Excellent collaboration skills and a team-oriented mindset. Ability to develop expertise in pneumatic conveying sizing programs. Willingness to travel as needed to support customer projects and system testing. Preferred Qualifications: Experience with system testing, validation, and commissioning. Knowledge of industry standards and safety regulations, including HAZOP and life safety reviews. Experience supporting or leading R&D process development projects. Familiarity with CAD software for system layout and design.
