Your Key Responsibilities - Use technical and communication abilities to assist with completing the civil component of a wide variety of projects in a dynamic design team setting. - Perform construction observation for project compliance with project documents and engineering principals. - Perform construction administration duties including documenting construction activities, measuring of materials, witness materials testing, review of shop drawings, and providing general project oversight. - Complete detailed reports as required. - Assist with construction surveying/staking as needed. - Communicate effectively with construction and engineering staff, clients, contractors, and other project stakeholders. - Office duties if available may include assisting with CAD drafting and design, and preparation of plans and specifications, reports, and other project deliverables. What you will do: * Prepare the conceptual, preliminary, and final design that are complete, accurate and in accordance with civil engineering practices * Demonstrate design ownership * Engage with the design team to solve engineering or technical problems * Provide updated technical information to the design team as standards and processes evolve * Mentor and train the design team on evolving technologies and standards as processes evolve * Assist with the management and execution of civil engineering projects in the Autodesk Construction Cloud * Assist with the collaboration of consultants and sharing of resources through bridging in the Autodesk Construction Cloud * Involved with the resolution of design challenges and tackling those challenges efficiently by leveraging out-of-the-box thinking and using creativity * Perform design computations and calculations related to the civil site design, mass grading and earth work calculation * Work closely with the Design Manager, Autodesk-user team and the design team to understand technical needs and identify most efficient solution(s) * Work closely with other engineering staff across multiple disciplines * Work closely with the corporate CAD Management and Strategy teams to drive initiatives forward What you will bring: * Associate Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent * Ideal candidates would have 10+ years of experience in Municipal sector, but Civil Site Design/Land Development or Transportation are also good experience profiles for qualified candidates * The successful candidate shall be able to conduct the detailed engineering design or major portions of engineering effort on multiple projects and for public improvements (utilities, roadways, trails, parking lots, etc.) * Understanding of, road design, utility design, erosion and sediment control applications, quantity calculations, geotechnical studies and drainage studies is required * Understanding of templates and support files for AutoCAD and Civil 3D * Understanding and proficiency with core AutoCAD functions and the ability to model alignments, profiles, surfaces, feature lines, corridors, and pipe networks in Civil 3D * Detail-oriented with strong commitment to technical excellence * Will need to be a self-starter and be able to manage working between many different projects at the same time * Ability to work 40 hours a week * Ability to work in posted locations * Less than 10% travel required for this job Who We Are: WSB is a design and consulting firm specializing in Transportation, Community Planning, Environmental, Energy, Municipal, and Construction services.
