Job DescriptionOur client, a leading flexible packaging company, is seeking an experienced Extrusion Supervisor to join their growing team at their Rocky Mount, VA facility. In this position, you will be responsible for maintaining safety, quality and production in the extrusion department while ensuring that all company policies and regulations are being followed properly.
Daily Responsibilities:
- Mentor, coach, and oversee the work of the team to meet safety, operational, and quality needs
- Oversee and direct all daily production activities of the press department by continuously performing department walk throughs throughout each shift
- Ensure achievement of quality, production, productivity and safety goals for specific department/shift
- Monitor production activity and data to develop solutions or recommendations to continuously improve processes in support of operational goals and objectives
- Responsible for process improvement plans such as LEAN and 5S
- Responsible for assisting with hiring and ensure quality training of new employees. Actively monitor trainee progress, provide feedback and arrange additional training for employees
- Validate all quality checks are being performed properly
- Perform startups on all new jobs
- Coordinate and schedule jobs according to our customers' requirements. Maintain a customer focused perspective in all activities initiated to ensure that customer needs are successfully met
- Conduct timely and detailed employee evaluations of production associates
- Oversee performance concerns and/or disciplinary action as required in a fair, consistent and confidential manner

- 5+ years of experience with extrusion processes

- Experience using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Power Point), Visio, and Outlook email and calendar capabilities
- Ability to read, comprehend and write correspondence, and effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to fellow employees
