Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
1. Conduct field routines such as spraying, weighing, measuring, counting, handling soil, planting, and growing plants under standard operating procedures.
2. Prepare land for planting crops.
3. Assist in field operations such as hand hoeing, field maintenance, inventory, and maintenance of equipment and supplies. Perform general cleanup of equipment and facilities as requested.
4. Handle, mix, and apply pesticides in fields to ensure standard operating procedures are followed.
5. Mark, measure, and lay out crop fields for planting.
6. Operate equipment including cotton picker, combine, and tractor using various farm implements.
7. Perform other necessary duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Minimum Qualifications:
Education: High school diploma.
Experience: Six months of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified AND six months of general experience.

Licensures:
1. Valid driver's license.
2. Must obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicators Certificate within 90 days of employment or complete the worker/handler training, whichever is applicable.

Position Summary
The Foreman is responsible for leading field crews in the construction, installation, and maintenance of underground and aerial utility infrastructure. This position ensures that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company policies, plans, and specifications.
The Foreman works closely with the Supervisor to plan daily operations, establish estimated completion dates, and communicate equipment, personnel, and material needs. The Foreman enforces all company, safety, and quality standards within the crew while maintaining accountability for production, equipment condition, and overall job-site performance.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership and Supervision
Lead, supervise, and motivate crew members to achieve daily production targets while maintaining strict safety and quality standards.
Issue clear, actionable work assignments and confirm each crew member understands their responsibilities.
Develop a daily work plan and conduct an end-of-day briefing to review progress and outline the following day's tasks, hazards, and resource needs.
Work in coordination with the Supervisor to establish estimated completion dates, communicate resource requirements, and adjust schedules as necessary.
Verify at the start of each day that all tools, materials, and equipment required for job completion are present, correct in quantity and type, and in safe, serviceable condition.
Ensure that forgotten or missing materials are identified before departure from the yard or job site to reduce inefficiencies and unnecessary trips, minimizing cost and lost production time.
Ensure the crew is properly equipped with all required tools, materials, and safety equipment before work begins.
Maintain positive communication and cooperation with engineers, inspectors, property owners, and regulatory representatives as required.
Provide direction and hands-on support when necessary to keep production on schedule.
Enforce all company, safety, and quality standards within the crew.
Planning and Coordination
Review and interpret construction drawings, plans, and specifications to ensure the crew fully understands the scope of work.
Identify potential conflicts or changes in field conditions and notify the Supervisor for direction or resolution.
Coordinate activities with other crews, subcontractors, or utilities to maintain workflow and prevent delays.
Verify that all required locates, permits, and clearances are in place prior to commencing work.
Plan and allocate manpower, equipment, and materials to maximize efficiency and minimize downtime.
Production and Quality
Maintain responsibility for all daily crew production, including meeting schedule goals, quality standards, and safety performance.
Supervise and verify installation of conduit, pipe, cable, vaults, and related components in accordance with specifications and design standards.
Oversee backfilling, compaction, and site restoration to ensure compliance with specifications and environmental requirements.
Inspect completed work to confirm conformance with plans, workmanship standards, and company quality expectations.
Assist crew members directly with field tasks or equipment operation as needed to maintain progress.
Safety and Compliance
Maintain a safe work environment by enforcing all company, OSHA, DOT, and environmental safety policies.
Conduct and document daily Job Safety Analysis (JSA) and pre-task briefings with the crew.
Ensure that all employees wear appropriate PPE and follow safe work practices.
Monitor work zones for hazards such as traffic, trenching, and overhead obstructions; place warning signs and barricades as needed.
Immediately report all incidents, near misses, injuries, and property damage. The Foreman is accountable for all incidents occurring under their supervision.
Equipment and Asset Accountability
Confirm daily that all assigned tools, materials, and equipment are accounted for, functional, and safe to operate.
Verify that specialty tools or components specific to the day's work are loaded and available before departing the yard.
Ensure all vehicles and machinery assigned to the crew are operated, fueled, greased, and maintained in accordance with manufacturer guidelines.
The Foreman is responsible and accountable for any failure to properly maintain, inspect, or secure crew equipment and materials.
