Summary: Join us as the the cellar supervisor at Chandon California. This role is responsible for the direct supervision of the cellar staff in all cellar operations in accordance with operational policies to ensure maximum safety, productivity, and quality to strengthen the brand portfolio through strict adherence to winemaking standards.
Leadership:
Supervises all day-to-day cellar activities.
Supervises cellar staff to ensure that proper winemaking and safety procedures are followed.
Promotes teamwork among operations and all winery personnel.
Responsible for the development of teams in their charge. Addressing and appraising performance, identifying training and development opportunities and acting as a coach/mentor when required.
Cellar:
Prioritizes, facilitates and supervises operational activities in all areas that incorporate the Cellar and barrel rooms.
Facilitates and/or coordinates facility and equipment repairs and issues with the Maintenance Department and the Winemaking Project Manager.
Ensures that all winery sanitation practices, including but not limited to, general aesthetics, operational, and storage are adhered to.
Identifies, researches, communicates, and implements process improvement opportunities for operational efficiencies and product quality assurance.
Works with the Winemaking department to write, revise, and update the Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) as new techniques and/or equipment are adopted/utilized.
Harvest:
Direct supervision of a shift during harvest.
Ensure accurate and efficient intake and processing of grapes and juice.
Ensure implementation of all safety procedures to maintain a safe working environment.
Identify staffing needs and communicate them to Associate Winemaker.
Safety:
Be proactive in the approach to health and safety; ensuring active engagement, and compliance with all safety requirements, company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements to maintain a safe working environment
Create a positive culture by role modeling appropriate behaviors and encouraging teams to speak up about safety
Report all hazards, incidents, injuries and near misses in accordance with the relevant procedures
