Job Description
Overview:

Under general supervision, provides remote and on-site system configuration, testing, cutover activities and post transition support for the Company's 9-1-1 solutions. The Field Engineer may also provide consultation to both internal and external customers in areas specific to their expertise.

Responsibilities include:

Installation:
Performs System configurations for all supported Company 9-1-1 solutions Performs Site Verification Testing prior to migrating a site into a production environment Provides support to Customers while migrating the Company's 9-1-1 solution into a production environment Documents all changes to the solution that may occur during the implementation phase of the project Ensures that installation/quality issues are resolved in a timely and efficient manner

Support:
Perform root cause assessment and debug 9-1-1 reported incidents Identify and provide resolutions ranging in complexity from medium to high Provides technical assistance to fellow Field Engineers where required and applicable Ensures that escalated problems and issues are reported to the appropriate contacts Consult with the software development team, internal users, and clients to improve application performance Manage code migration across environments to ensure continued and synchronized functionality Keeping a record of configuration changes and scheduling application updates Document processes and monitor application performance metrics Provide front-end support to clients and colleagues in other departments

Basic Requirements
Associates Degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Engineering or similar field of education + 3 years of experience OR 5+ plus years of experience in engineering or similar field Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required. Position Summary:
Provide technical service by maintaining, servicing, and repairing office equipment (B & W, color and multi-functional devices) at customer locations in assigned territories.


Responsibilities:

  • Maintain, service, and repair office equipment at customer locations in assigned territories in an effective and efficient manner. This includes but is not limited to diagnostics, installation, modifications, upgrades, repair, removal and retrofits of office products. Ensure machines are maintained in a clean and proper manner.
  • Complete assigned field calls according to priority while executing proper time management.
  • Coordinate with dispatch and keep them informed of all re-route
    activity as appropriate. Advise management of problem areas as needed.
  • Maintain service benchmarks set by TBS and industry standards to ensure customer satisfaction.
  • Manage car inventory to ensure adequate part levels are available in order to service machines.
  • Maintain tools and test equipment to ensure they are in service-ready condition. May rebuild components in shop to develop technical skills for field assignments.
  • Practice PM procedures and repair techniques to build proficiency for field assignments.
  • Complete service training as required by TBS.
  • Complete basic dealer and manufacturer training on specified systems.
  • Attend department meetings as required.
  • Ensure service activities are accurately documented according to service practices using automated systems and/or established reports. This includes but is not limited to call, mileage, and expense reports.
  • Conduct job responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner according to TABS safety policies and procedures.
  • Comply with all local, state and federal safety and health regulations, programmatic standards, and special safety concerns identified by TABS for use in specific areas or with clients/customers.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Qualifications
:
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of one year of experience in technical repair and service of copier/office equipment.
  • Demonstrated experience with document management, MFP and print 6 months of Shop Tech experience a plus.
  • Good customer service skills and ability to multitask, prioritize assignments and work independently.
  • Must be computer literate and have good electro-mechanical with customers.
  • Requires a valid driver's license and reliable insured vehicle.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs. The job involves frequent bending, lifting and reaching.

What you'll do...


JOB SUMMARY
Lead a team of Field Support Technicians for a region or assigned area. Ensure the daily operations of IT are completed timely. Coordinate and implement planned projects with seasonal FST's. Manage staffing needs, monitor labor and enforce HRB compliance.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  1. Ensure clarity around various IT initiatives and in partnership with CSM and field leaders, create an execution plan to roll out for the district.
  2. Participate in alpha beta testing as needed.
  3. Lead a group of seasonal Field Systems Technicians including: staffing plans, hiring, training, scheduling, delegation, performance management, and labor management.
  4. Manage cases for completion, timeliness and accuracy of closure.
  5. Understand and recognize office hardware. Must ensure HRB hardware standards are being met in all offices.
  6. Comprehend communication and connectivity concepts as they relate to HRB Tax office set up scenarios (VPN, Client/Host, File Transfer, telecom data services, office cabling, etc) and instruct others on these concepts
  7. Install and troubleshoot tax office and software and hardware. Must be able to understand and teach concepts and documentation to guide through the administration of unfamiliar software.
  8. Troubleshoot a variety of office set up issues and communicate fixes to the FST team.
  9. Understand documentation that is provided for office set up and have the ability to translate that information into a physical technology set up. Must be able to train concepts to seasonal FST's.
  10. Ability to understand and enforce the need and purpose of office and technology compliance.
  11. Manage and maintain inventory of district equipment and hot spare tracking & control for computer equipment in the district.
  12. Ensure regular communication with Company Support Manager on support issues and needs.
  13. Manage overall 'health' of the district from an IT perspective; proactively engage with field leaders as appropriate to ensure Health issues are addressed timely.
QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Requirements
  1. Bachelor Degree or equivalent education or experience.
  2. 2 years of experience with Windows XP, Windows 7, and Windows network configurations, and MS Office (or equivalent).
  3. Ability to recognize differences of opinion or understanding. Identify cause for the differences and attempt to gain consensus. Escalate if no resolution and document known facts.
  4. Able to read documentation and set up instructions and apply this information to each individual office. Must be able to take information, organize it, and report on it back to a team lead.
  5. Access to and ability to drive a motor vehicle; possession of a valid drivers license; adequate insurance coverage as required by applicable state law and a good driving record.
  6. Leadership.


Preferred Qualifications
  1. Computer networking certification (A+, CNA, MCP,MCSE, etc.)
  2. 2 years experience working with Windows 2000 and/or Windows XP.
  3. 2 years networking experience.
  4. 2 years troubleshooting experience.
