Finance systems analyst job description

The Financial Systems and Reporting Analyst II is responsible for supporting implementation and maintenance of financial system solutions including master data management, security, data reconciliation and financial reporting solutions.
Essential Functions:
Supports implementation and ongoing maintenance of financial systems Participates in full delivery life cycle; including planning, requirements and impact analysis, estimation, design, build, test, deploy and support Supports the maintenance of master data, data dictionaries, reporting and internal controls maintaining data integrity Participate in delivery of SAP end user documentation, processes and training as needed. Develop financial systems knowledge/competency in super users and subject matter experts throughout the business Provide validated and reconciled data extracts for audits, and other user requests Perform tasks supporting month/year end close activities including issue resolution Assist in the development or enhancement of financial system capabilities incorporating detailed enhancement designs based on end user specifications and internal controls ensuring data integrity Develop reports presenting validation and inconsistencies pertaining to data integrity Work with members of the Enterprise financial system support team, and end users to determine the effectiveness of existing training materials, implementing appropriate changes Responsible for understanding the business needs and applying the correct configuration to satisfy those needs Assist with maintaining security settings across all financial systems incorporating segregation of duties Review development news on future releases identifying impacts and availablility of additional functionality Execute all necessary internal controls for related entities consistent with Model Audit Rule (MAR) requirements Perform any other job duties as requested

Education and Experience:
Bachelor of Science/Arts Degree in accounting, finance, economics, computer sciences or related field or equivalent work experience is required Business related post-graduate degree is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience Two (2) years of related experience in accounting/finance is required Two (2) years of SAP or financial systems experience preferred Two (2) years' experience in business analysis and solving business problems using information technology and business intelligence software Managed care or healthcare experience is preferred

Licensure and Certification:
Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Management Accountant (CMA), Association for Financial Professionals (AFP) FP&A, SAP Certified Application Associate or related certification is preferred and provides credit for one year of related experience

Working Conditions:
General office environment; may be required to sit or stand for extended periods of time May be required to travel occasionally

Responsibilities

• Directly supports Delaware North Companies' OneStream reporting systems stakeholders and the end-user community.
• Maintains the daily/month-end close operations of Delaware North's financial reporting systems and general ledger accounting functions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related subject required.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office (Excel), Hyperion, SQL, Visual Basic, or similar Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) software. OneStream experience is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail, and a skilled problem solver.
• Expertise in driving continuous improvement and business process management.
• System integration experience is a plus.
• Project management experience is a plus.

Job Description

The Senior Financial Systems Analyst will act as a liaison between IT and the business users (Finance) bridging the needs of the business with IT solutions. The primary responsibility is working as Finance Representative on IT road map projects. Duties will include analyzing the current process, assisting in specifications, recommending change to process, participation in test design and execution, and training on new systems.

The primary focus will be on POS Sales, Tax, Credit and Promotions integration into Financial Systems

+ Formulate and evaluate potential solutions that meet business needs for the Finance division.

+ Development of finance requirements and input on functional specifications for system projects and enhancements.

+ Assist in the development, coordination and execution of integration and user acceptance testing.

+ Development of end user communications, and training related to system implementations, enhancements, or changes in business processes.

+ Provide input and participate in activities to effectively lead operational change management throughout the organization.

+ Work with production support team to provide appropriate hand offs on new finance projects so they can support business users with first class customer service

+ Proven ability to handle multiple projects at one time

+ Can partner with the business to redesign and develop new business processes to aid in streamlining efforts

Requirements:

+ Bachelor's degree, preferably in Finance or Information Systems

+ 5-7 years of project experience related to Finance

+ Experience in SAP preferred and or other Financial Systems

+ Experience with sales and/or promotions preferred.

+ Strong accounting/finance knowledge combined with an understanding of financial systems/accounting processes to ensure delivery of accurate and timely results

+ Excellent written and verbal communication skills
