Here's what you will do:
Support operational performance goals.
Directly lead, supervise and develop a team of unionized employees to ensure work execution is performed safely, to quality standards and meets all required service and reliability levels.
Schedule, assign, and monitor the work of service personnel, crews and contractors.
Conduct job site observations.
Ensure proper work methods are followed and that new employees receive adequate/appropriate training.
Works closely with local Operations staff to ensure effective work completion for all required Operations, Maintenance, and Compliance work.
Utilize ESRI, Salesforce, ARCOS, SAP, OCS and Microsoft applications, etc.
Manage escalated customer complaints or service issues.
Monitor budget goals and employee productivity.
Ensure safety and environmental precautions are followed.
Perform other duties as requested or assigned.
After hours overtime and weekend on call duty required.
Please note: This position is subject to emergency callouts where you will have emergency duty supervisor responsibilities after hours and over the weekend and is subject to pre-employment and random drug/alcohol screening. For callout purposes, the successful candidate must live within one hour of the operating area.

Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities:

Float on a daily basis to fill vacant positions across the plant to ensure operation is able to run at scheduled capacity.

Provide operational support to the Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant.
Responsibilities:
Water Plant Operations
Operate and control treatment plant equipment to purify and clarify water for human or industrial use.
Regulate flow of raw water and dosage of treatment chemicals (e.g., chlorine, polymer, fluoride) using electric motors, valves, and automated systems (SCADA/HMI).
Monitor filtration and chemical mixing processes, adjust flow rates and pressure, and ensure proper water distribution.
Perform backwashing, equipment cleaning, and routine maintenance using hand and power tools.
Test water samples for acidity, turbidity, and chemical content using lab instruments.

Adjust valves, gates, and controls (manual or remote) based on readings from gauges, meters, and test results.
Start/stop pumps, engines, and generators to support various treatment stages (screening, aeration, digestion).
Maintain logs of plant operations and meter readings.
Direct plant attendants in routine tasks and perform water quality testing using lab equipment.
Perform preventative, operational, and corrective maintenance as required.
Ensure work areas are cleaned and restored after maintenance tasks are completed.
Adhere to company policies, procedures, and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements:
Possess knowledge, skills, and experience to perform the job.
Must possess current certification per WAC 173-230, Certification of Operators of Wastewater Treatment Plants, and additional licensure/certifications as required by the position, state, contract.

Qualifications
Education/Experience/Background:
Ohio Class III Water Operator

Over five years of experience in a related position and environment with knowledge of the methods, techniques, and practices of water treatment.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:
Must have the ability to perform basic math equations.
Regulatory Knowledge (RCRA, CERCLA), and knowledge of Title V - NESHAPS.
Demonstrates ability to mentor, coach and train others to identify cost effective solutions.
Must demonstrate ability to use computer programs for preparing work orders, work related reports, charts, graphs and data submittal requirements.
Must demonstrate proficiency in the care and use of all site specific, facility required PPE (Personal Protection Equipment), including respirators, gas detectors, confined space equipment, etc).
Must consistently demonstrate the ability to operate all machines and equipment meeting or exceeding processing and quality targets under general supervision.
Must demonstrate ability to efficiently operate all equipment in the facility which may include pumps, engines, centrifuge, generators, valves, gates, mixers, conveyors, blowers, dryers, chemical feed, odor control, disinfection equipment, vacuum filters, belt presses and measuring devices, testing equipment, material handling equipment.
Must have the ability to diagnose process problems regardless of complexity, troubleshoot process control instrumentation equipment and related systems and take corrective action within policy and procedure limitations.
Must demonstrate ability to work in a team environment and willingness to assume additional or new responsibilities readily.
Must be able to serve rotational 24-hour emergency on-call if required by site.
