Job Summary

Responsibilities
* Manage a student support and academic alert caseload of mild to critical level concerns, providing individualized care, tailored intervention, and consistent follow-up to students and referring parties. Maintain student case files in Maxient, ensuring case notes and other records are maintained in accordance with university policies and federal and state regulations.
* Facilitate referrals to on and off campus services for students who face complex, hardship, and/or unforeseen circumstances (e.g., academics, death of loved one, financial, emotional distress, social adjustment, and other related concerns) that could affect their ability to be successful at UNG. Consult collaboratively with UNG offices and personnel, community organizations, and family members to assist students who experience various concerns that impact their progress and success at UNG. Develop collaborative partnerships.
* Create and sustain campaign efforts to educate faculty and staff on how to support students of concern, including how and when to make appropriate referrals. Provide educational opportunities to students on services provided by the Dean of Students Office. Represent the Office of the Dean of Students and Division of Student Engagement and Success at a variety of university events and on committees including: LiveWell UNG, Hey Day, and Constitution Day, among others.
* Assist students in career exploration according to activities such as interest/values inventories and skills assessment; examine potential majors and programs of study or paths that align with strengths; review resources for occupational exploration; Handshake and job search strategies; resume development and critique; interview preparation, portfolio building and exploration of appropriate experiential learning opportunities. Foster positive relationships, serve as a resource, and provide support to local employers. Conduct outreach and provide instruction related to career development and actively engage audiences at orientations, Nighthawk Previews, workshops and other events. Participates in regular meetings with Career Services.

* Tutor all levels of math and statistics offered by the University.
* Check in/out, maintain, and barcode reserve materials, such as books and calculators for students. Check out and maintain laptops, cameras, LCDs, and other equipment for faculty use.
* Demonstrate the use of calculators, both graphing and non-graphing, and any software used in the math and statistics courses.
* Monitor activities in all open-access computing areas and study rooms.
* Keep computing skills current, particularly the most commonly used software on the network. Participate in appropriate professional development activities. Monitor tutoring lab log in information. Assist students with password issues and additions to print balances.
* Compile, update, and post tutors schedules, including schedule changes as they occur. Administer and monitor make-up tests. Maintain printers/copiers for Tutoring Center.

Qualifications
Qualifications to work for FWS are as follows. Students MUST:
have completed a financial aid file
have need as determined by FAFSA
be in "good" standing status according to GMC's Satisfactory Academic Policy
have a High School Diploma/GED.
