Reality Labs at Meta is seeking Research Scientists with experience in product-focused machine learning and signal processing research to advance our pioneering work in neuromotor interfaces, which has grown out of the acquisition of CTRL-labs. We're building a practical interface drawing on the rich neuromotor signals that can be measured non-invasively via surface electromyography (EMG) with single motor neuron resolution. The High Energy Physics Division at Argonne National Laboratory invites applications for a postdoctoral research associate position to conduct research in machine learning (ML) for applications in High-Energy Physics (HEP). We seek highly qualified candidates with interest and experience in ML algorithms including unsupervised techniques, time-series modeling, and clustering algorithms. The selected candidate is expected to perform research on nanostructures in glasses, including glass preparation, material characterization, data acquisition, students training, manuscript preparation and conference presentations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: * Conduct research on rare-earth ion doped glasses, work with students and assist the PI in all aspects of the work related to the research project and in teaching. Minimum Position Requirements (including certifications, licenses, etc.): * PhD in Physics or PhD in Chemistry or PhD in Materials Science. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: * Good knowledge in rare-earth spectroscopy, nanostructures in glasses and plasmon interaction studies. * Skills in the use of data acquisition equipment and material characterization techniques and glass preparation. * Ability to communicate well in English, write manuscripts and guide students.
