The Zhuang Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support an NIH MIRA project investigating gene-environment interactions in complex traits using multi-omics approaches in Drosophila. The Research Assistant will carry out day-to-day experimental work, maintain research operations, and contribute to team science in a collaborative environment.
Primary responsibilities:
* Plan, execute, and document Drosophila experiments, including stock maintenance, genetic crosses, and phenotyping.
* Prepare samples for molecular assays and multi-omics workflows, and coordinate submissions to core facilities.
* Maintain accurate electronic records, organize project data, and prepare figures and summaries for reports, presentations, and manuscripts.
* Support laboratory operations, including ordering, inventory, routine equipment upkeep, and compliance with safety and university policies.
* Communicate progress at lab meetings and research seminars, collaborate with lab members and external partners, and contribute to troubleshooting.
* Mentor and oversee undergraduate researchers in routine tasks.

The School of Human Environmental Sciences has a nutrition program in which two postdoctoral research associate positions will be administered. These positions are located in Dr. Sabrina Trudo's lab in the Biomass building and the postdoctoral fellows will be housed at the Microbiome and Metabolism Research Unit in Little Rock, AR as a collaborative effort to work on USDA-ARS projects. The qualified candidates will provide research support to projects to investigate the impact of the various early life factors on health leveraging clinical studies, and animal and in vitro cell culture models. The positions involve coordinating and conducting studies as well as analysis of samples taken from clinical studies, rodents, cells, and foods. This also involves human study support (collection and analysis of samples, etc.)

The Microbiome & Bacterial Immunology laboratory at the Department of Animal Science investigates the host-microbiome interface in livestock, with emphasis on bacterial translocation from the gut to low-microbial-load tissues, host immune responses, and interventions to reduce antibiotic dependence. We seek a full-time laboratory technician to support molecular biology, microbiome analytics, bacterial isolation/culture, and immunology workflows.
Prior experience in molecular biology or microbiome research is preferred but not required. Comprehensive training will be provided.

The role of the Library Graduate Assistant for Experiential Learning is an engaging job that gives you the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to the educational experiences of students at the University of Arkansas while furthering your professional goals! The person in this role will fulfill a variety of job duties that will allow them to develop a diverse portfolio of skills and utilize creativity.
The Graduate Assistant will work closely with the Experiential Learning Librarian to support instruction, research services, and the promotion of library's experiential learning spaces and resources. This includes contributing to the development of an intentional, growing experiential learning instruction program. This individual may assist in delivering instruction sessions, which focus on helping faculty and students understand and apply maker, information, and media literacies within Kolb's experiential learning cycle framework, including how to access and use creative technologies in support of teaching, learning, and research.
As a member of the University Libraries' Experiential Learning department, the Library Graduate Assistant for Experiential Learning will also work closely and collaboratively with a dedicated team of colleagues in the library to provide excellent service to our patrons. They will receive the training necessary to answer research questions, help with special events, and participate in other opportunities that allow them to explore areas of personal interest that contribute to professional development. The Library Graduate Assistant for Experiential Learning will have the opportunity to gain experience with instructional design, developing learning outcomes and assessments, curriculum mapping, and Kolb's experiential learning cycle. Our ideal candidate will be enthusiastic to learn about information, media, and maker literacies and how they can be incorporated into the experiential learning cycle. Summary of Job Duties:The Zhuang Lab in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Arkansas seeks a full-time Research Assistant to support an NIH MIRA project investigating gene-environment interactions in complex traits using multi-omics approaches in Drosophila. Summary of Job Duties:The School of Human Environmental Sciences has a nutrition program in which two postdoctoral research associate positions will be administered. These positions are located in Dr. Sabrina Trudo's lab in the Biomass building and the postdoctoral fellows will be housed at the Microbiome and Metabolism Research Unit in Little Rock, AR as a collaborative effort to work on USDA-ARS projects. The qualified candidates will provide research support to projects to investigate the impact of the various early life factors on health leveraging clinical studies, and animal and in vitro cell culture models. Summary of Job Duties:The successful candidate will work in the Analytical Protein Chemistry program of Dr. Samira Feyzi. The postdoc will focus on conducting and developing research on
proteins, especially plant proteins. The position requires decision making, problem solving, and method development skills on protein extraction optimization, fractionation,
purification, characterization, binding properties, modification, and application in food systems. Also a sloid knowledge and research experience on chromatography
(HPLC, UPLC, GC/MS, GC/MS-O) and proteomics is required.This appointment involves developing instrumental methods for enhancing proteins, especially plant
proteins, functionalities and application in food products. Experience and willingness to learn Proteomics and/or flavoramics, chromatography, and spectroscopy methods,
instruments, and software are required. The postdoctoral research associate will work with undergraduate and graduate students, as well. Candidates should be wellorganized and experienced in working in research labs and have good communication and teamwork skills. The position will initially be available for 1 year with renewal based on availability of funding and satisfactory performance.
Qualifications:
Required (Minimum) Qualifications
PhD in Food Science or a closely related field
Preferred Qualifications:
PhD in Food Chemistry/ Food Analysis;
Experience in proteomics and flavoromics;
Experience in protein characterization using chromatography (HPLC; LC-MS; GC-MS; GC-MS/O), spectroscopy (FTIR, NIR, CD, and fluorescence), texture analyzer, rheometer;
Experience in amino acid profile analysis;
Knowledge of proteins interactions with other food macro or micro molecules;
Research and/or industry work experience in protein ingredients;
Lab management experience and skills
