Working at the Andrews Regenerative Medicine Center (RMC) in Pensacola, the successful candidate will provide scientific guidance to generate and sustain research activities in biologics and regenerative medicine. The RMRF will be expected to develop and expand new ideas and protocols in collaboration with corporate and physician/clinical partners, and will be responsible for study implementation, evaluation, and publishing of results. The RMRF will also provide technical skills training and scientific guidance to clinical investigators and assist with problem solving and data evaluations. Reporting to the Associate Dean for Research at the FSU College of Medicine and the Director of Research and Development at AREF, this critical role will lead grant proposal planning and writing, oversee day to day laboratory activities and ensure that all laboratory procedures are performed properly and in adherence to regulation. The RMRF may also facilitate procedures in the Surgical Skills Laboratory and assist with patient visits for clinical research studies as needed.
The Andrews RMC was designed to pioneer the translation of regenerative medicine treatments from early clinical and animal studies to evidence-based patient care. The RMC provides clinical space to offer current evidence-based and regulatory-compliant treatments and houses a tissue processing and storage facility to participate in developmental stem cell studies. The RMC includes a GMP compliant clean room (ISO 7), lab equipment to facilitate research (including a flow cytometer, hemocytometer, incubator, microscope, ELISA reader, and other equipment), and biologic product storage (including liquid nitrogen vapor phase storage, a -80 freezer, and two medical grade biologic refrigerators).

This position requires the application of interdisciplinary skills across hydrology, hydrogeology, environmental and civil engineering, and programming. Project Overview:
We are seeking two highly motivated individuals to join our team as a Project Manager and Postdoctoral Researcher, contributing to both the scientific and operational success of a major research initiative focused on hydrology and water quality in Florida's coastal watersheds. Your responsibilities include managing daily research operations, coordinating research activities, developing watershed water quality models, identifying water quality "hotspots", and developing effective mitigation strategies. You will ensure that all work is conducted efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with institutional policies, research protocols, and regulatory guidelines. You will also coordinate with fellow researchers, oversee participant involvement, manage data workflows, and maintain project timelines and budgets. Throughout the project, you will apply hydro-informatics, GIS mapping, and water quality modeling techniques to address complex environmental challenges. You will work closely with Dr. Seneshaw Tsegaye, Chair of the Department of Bioengineering, Civil Engineering, and Environmental Engineering, along with other FGCU researchers. Dr. Tsegaye, who also holds the Backe Chair for Sustainable Water Research at the U.A. Whitaker College of Engineering, brings 15 years of expertise in integrated urban water management, hydrology and water quality modeling, GIS for sustainable development, water-sensitive urban design, and flood resilience. Your contributions will be vital in coordinating with research team members, conducting scientific research, reporting project process, publishing in peer-reviewed journals, and supervising graduate researchers.
Essential Job Duties:
* Attend introductory training sessions organized by the project PI and Co-PI's.
* Integrate complex large datasets from open sources and SAS Viya, including spatial and temporal environmental, hydrology, water quality, and climate-related data.
* Lead data processing, ensuring data quality and consistency.
* Conduct water quality modeling for multiple Florida watersheds using Watershed Assessment Model (WAM), Soil and Water Assessment Tool (SWAT), Hydrological Simulation Program FORTRAN (HSPF), and/or Water Quality Analysis Simulation Program (WASP).
* Calibrate and validate models using measured surface and groundwater hydrologic and water quality data.
* Conduct scenario analysis to evaluate the impact of climate change and urbanization.
* Develop alternative modeling scenarios for evaluating the benefits of future water quality improvement stategies.
* Generate complex scenarios for evaluating the benefits of land use practices, BMPs, wetland and chemical stormwater treatment projects, etc.

Department Florida State University (FSU) invites applications for a Research Faculty position in AI for Surgical Simulation and Skill Assessment, within the FAMU-FSU College of Engineering. Responsibilities This position offers an exciting opportunity to join a growing interdisciplinary research program that integrates AI, computer vision, and virtual reality (VR) to create next-generation systems for surgical training and evaluation. The successful candidate will help design AI-driven, data-informed simulation platforms that objectively assess performance, accelerate skill acquisition, and enable adaptive, personalized learning.
The position is ideally suited for a researcher passionate about combining machine learning, real-time simulation, and human performance modeling to create intelligent, interactive environments that enhance both technical precision and decision-making in surgery. The candidate will collaborate across departments and research centers, publish in leading journals, mentor students, and play an active role in securing competitive external funding to expand this rapidly advancing area.
Responsibilities:
* Conduct research in AI-enabled surgical simulation and video-based skill assessment.
* Develop novel algorithms and techniques for real-time simulation, workflow analysis, and performance evaluation.
* Integrate deep learning and computer vision approaches into VR/AR surgical training systems.
* Collaborate with faculty members and researchers from medical schools to advance the field of surgical simulation and assessment.
* Design and execute human subjects studies, in partnership with clinicians and human factors experts, to evaluate system effectiveness and training outcomes.
* Prepare and submit competitive research proposals for external funding.

Qualifications
* Doctoral degree in Computer Science, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.
