Serve as an undergraduate researchassistant on the project: Evaluating the impact of land conservation on recreational opportunities in the Hudson Valley.
The rise of land conservation during the 90's has led to a significant increase in the preservation of natural resources. The majority of this land has been protected by non-profit land trusts. Despite the obvious environmental benefits of this work, many land trusts limit/prohibit the uses of their land. This restriction may be inadvertently affecting human connection to the local environment. This project aims to quantify the permitted uses of protected lands in the region and assess their impact on recreational opportunities.

4. Solicit participation from land trust staff.
