Your Opportunity The role of the Geologist is to perform tasks and assignments associated with geotechnical and geological assessments, hydrogeological studies, subsurface investigations; sampling of soil, sediment, surface water, and groundwater; data interpretation/evaluation and deliverable preparation. Your Key Responsibilities The selected candidate will: * Oversee advancement of soil and rock borings, including installation of groundwater monitoring wells and other downhole instrumentation. * Prepare soil boring log and well construction diagrams. * Perform site inspection of earthwork during construction. * Conduct field inspections and assessments of geohazards, such as landslides, rockfall, and abandoned mining features. * Learn and follow standard operating procedures for work assigned. * Demonstrate ability to analyze field and technical data. * Draft technical reports. * Complete applicable company and client required health & safety training (including OSHA required training) and follow health & safety policies and procedures. Your Capabilities and Credentials The ideal candidate will have: * The ability to effectively communicate project status to project manager and appropriate staff. * Strong technical writing skills. * Be an advocate for health, safety, and clients. * A working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint. * A valid driver's license and good driving record. * The ability and willingness to travel regionally, but mostly in Ohio, Indiana, and West Virginia up to 50 percent of time. * Must pass a pre-employment physical and drug and alcohol screening. * Working knowledge of field sampling techniques.
