Works on live circuits from low voltage to high voltage on a daily basis. Duties include, but are not limited to: Installing/troubleshooting issues for electrical motors, pumps, panels, disconnects, generators, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), soft starts, and Programmable Logic Controllers (PLCs). Troubleshoots three-phase electrical panels with the following voltages: 115 volts, 230 volts, 480 volts, and 4,160 volts switchgear. Isolates switchgear, including breakers, transformers, transfer switches, generators, and control panels. Exercises independent judgment concerning equipment in service, during standby duty, or off-duty hours. Isolates and/or switches power to electrical load centers from one center to the next; interprets drawings and schematics for troubleshooting electrical control circuits, live and isolated; identifies electrical hazards; applies proper knowledge of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and utilizes such as required. Performs a variety of electrical maintenance tasks concerning plant equipment and its related auxiliaries, such as VFDs, soft starts, and PLCs. Interacts with management, staff, and the public to identify and resolve service needs; determines the amount of materials, supplies, equipment, and time needed to complete assigned work.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Graduation from high school or an equivalent recognized certification; minimum of four (4) years of journey-level experience in the maintenance, repair, and installation of electronic and heavy electrical equipment, industrial electrical and electronic control systems.
PREFERENCE FOR: Licensed Master Electrician (copy of License must be uploaded to online application within three [3] business days of application submittal); completion of a vocational program, Associate's Degree, or Bachelor's Degree in an electrical-related field; VFD installation/programming experience; experience using Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA)/Allen-Bradley PLC software; two (2) or more years of experience working in a water and wastewater operations environment.

Each day, you'll play a key role in keeping our plant running at its best, maintaining everything from balers and conveyor belts to gearboxes, electrical motors, pulleys, shafts, and bearings. As a Senior Plant Maintenance Mechanic, you'll jump into action when systems fail, using your skills to quickly identify and fix issues, ensuring everything is back up and running safely and efficiently. You'll work with cutting-edge equipment and tackle challenges that require both expertise and determination. Reporting to the Plant Maintenance Manager, you'll help drive the success of our operations, ensuring the plant runs smoothly and safely at all times.
Here's more of what you'll do:
Conduct preventive maintenance inspections (PM) and diagnose, repair, and rebuild major equipment and components, including balers, conveyors, hydraulic power packs, eddy currents, electro-magnetic belts, optical sorters, diverters, compressors, trash compactors, motors, glass breakers, wire tie systems, fans, pumps, forklifts, front-end loaders, and building equipment.
Maintain the Daily Equipment Inspections (DEI) backlog.
Adjust work procedures to meet production schedules and inform the Sr. Plant Maintenance Manager if additional work is needed or cannot be completed within Standard Repair Times (SRTs).
Inspect the quality of third-party repairs and rebuilds.
Recommend improvements to enhance production, equipment performance, and product quality.
Multitask and manage multiple priorities with efficiency.
Respond to emergency breakdown service calls.
Perform work with limited supervision while maintaining high standards of performance.
Be flexible with your work schedule, which may include nights and weekends to meet operational needs.
Maintain a clean, safe work area in compliance with Corporate/OSHA standards and ensure all work is completed according to safety procedures.
Perform repairs in line with Waste Management Safety, Life Critical Rules, and OSHA requirements.

4 years of relevant work experience
