WORKING CONDITIONS:

This position requires 60% of weekly work schedule at Dermalogica Headquarters in Carson, CA with the option of 30% of weekly work schedule remote.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

As the Senior Manager, Learning Management and Instructional Design you will:

  • Build learning products that require advanced setup/deployment in the LMS, including conferences
  • Assist other members of the Education Department with building learning products in the LMS when needed
  • Perform review/quality assurance checks of selected learning products built by others to ensure that other members of the Education Department are building learning products correctly
  • Assist members when they encounter issues with the LMS that are not able to be resolved by first or second-tier support
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members to enable them to build learning products of basic or moderate complexity in the LMS themselves.
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members to enable them to understand the features offered by APhA’s LMS and how/when to utilize these features
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members as the LMS is updated, integrations with APhA’s other systems change, or new features are enabled
  • Perform instructional design for learning products that require more advanced instructional design techniques
  • On an ongoing basis, develop instructional design templates that can be used by other members of the Education Department when they are responsible for performing the instructional design for a learning product
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on instructional design principles and best practices
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on the use of APhA’s instructional design software and other resources
  • Provide education and training to Education Department team members on the features and limitations of current instructional design software/resources to enable them to plan accordingly when designing new learning products

LIFT Academy, a wholly owned subsidiary of Republic Airways, is seeking a Manager of Instructional Design and Curriculum Development to oversee the development and delivery of training curriculum for LIFT Academy employees, including pilots, technicians, and corporate roles and support the overall development of our flight school.

This role is responsible for managing the design, development, and maintenance of training resources while ensuring instructional programs are effectively implemented. This individual uses best practices in instructional design to lead the curriculum development team, maintaining existing resources and developing new programs using data to improve and enhance training programs at LIFT Acadamy.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

+ Conduct need analysis and project management activities to identify and prioritize development of distance-learning, in-person, and hybrid training programs to support ongoing operational needs and workforce development requirements.

+ Integrate engaging courseware through the curation of existing content and the development of new content, including video, motion graphics, and virtual/augmented reality (VR/AR).

+ Collaborate with Learning & Development Staff, Directors, and Executive Leadership to determine performance and training needs.

+ Implement modern learning methods to effectively transfer knowledge to different types of learners to include, but not limited to: mobile learning, gamification, personalized learning, and microlearning.

+ Use data to drive the design and development of training content, including instruments to measure and evaluate the effectiveness of learning.

+ Work alongside subject matter experts to develop technical and complex pilot and technician training courseware and curriculum.

+ Serve as the designated Learning Management System Administrator for LIFT Academy.

+ Coordinate department-wide framework for cataloguing, storage and maintenance of all instructional design assets ensuring information is accessible and available to all team members.

+ Manage and develop processes for training program delivery, including scheduling courses, managing rosters, creating meeting invitations, and recording training in learning management system.

+ Evaluate current practices, procedures and service arrangements and support the implementation of improvements and/or propose viable solutions to achieve efficiency gains.

+ Update curriculum to reflect any operational and regulatory changes and requirements.

+ Manage multiple training development projects of high complexity.

+ Perform special projects or other duties as assigned.
