Investigations - 40%
* Perform comprehensive criminal investigations while exercising critical judgement.
* Conduct thorough interviews with victims, witnesses, and suspects; compile detailed reports pertaining to those interactions; collect appropriate evidence involved in these crimes and make arrests.
* Analyze and submit evidence for laboratory examinations.
* Conduct intensive reviews of a wide range of multi-media to include audio and video recordings and data downloads of digital devices.

Field Duties - 25%
* Transport victims and witnesses to and from hearings.

The Office of the Inspector General (OIG) enforces criminal law to detect and deter crime within the Colorado Department of Corrections (CDOC). Through the use of systematic investigative techniques, position plans and conducts criminal and administrative investigations as well as preparation of legal documents, reports, warrants and affidavits.
Specific duties and responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:
* Conduct investigations of offender and employee misconduct to include violations of state statutes, federal laws and/or violations of administrative regulations.
* Investigations may include Title VII discrimination and sexual harassment complaints, use of force allegations, staff and offender relationships and other allegations of significant employee misconduct;

Important information about this position:

The Office serves a total of ten municipalities and one town, and covers a geographic area of approximately 1,200 square miles. The Office receives approximately 5,000 reported deaths per year. Each death investigator handles approximately 500 reported deaths per year and responds to approximately 300 death scenes per year. The Office's primary responsibilities are to conduct death investigations with the purpose of ascertaining the cause and manner of death of individuals that die under the jurisdiction of the office; establish the identity of the deceased; and notify the decedent's legal next-of-kin that his/her death has occurred. Work is characterized by independent planning and decision making, logical reasoning, and problem solving. Investigator must possess good communication and time management skills, take initiative, exercise good judgment, pay strict attention to detail, be able to multi-task, follow directives, and adhere to policies, procedures, and standards of practice. Investigator must be able to work efficiently independently and collectively, delegate appropriately, work with frequent interruptions, and effectively handle emergency/crisis situations. Job Description
Allied Universal is hiring a Surveillance Investigator. The Surveillance Investigator will perform discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of a Claimant to confirm current activities and capabilities to assist with the administration of an Insurance claim.
Must possess a valid driver's license with at least one year of driving experience
Company credit card to cover fuel and travel expenses
Pay Rate: $20 - $24/hr
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims across a range of coverage types, including workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability
Utilize various surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly
Document and report observations, activities, and any relevant information in a clear and concise manner
Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards in conducting surveillance operations
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
High school diploma or equivalent
Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations' training/orientation course
Prior educational or professional exposure to witness interviews or video monitoring
Prior educational or professional incident reporting and/or investigations experience
Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours/days including weekends and holidays
Ability to type reports in Microsoft Word format with minimal grammatical and punctuation errors
Proficient in utilizing laptop computers, video cameras and cell phones
Capable of maintaining focus and multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism
Ability to work in a very independent environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
Associate's Degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice
Security/Loss Prevention experience
Military experience
Law enforcement experience
Prior insurance investigations experience
