The AML Financial Crimes Specialist is responsible for ingestion of referrals involving potential criminal and/or suspicious activity. This role includes reviewing customer activity, identifying suspicious behavior, and escalating cases to Financial Crimes Group Leads for assignment to Financial Crimes Senior Investigators for further investigation and regulatory filing decisions.
Key Responsibilities
Review and analyze customer transactions and account activity to identify potential financial crimes risks.

Clearly and accurately document review and research findings in the case management system.
Escalate cases requiring further review to Financial Crimes Group Leads for assignment to Financial Crimes Senior Investigators for in-depth investigation and regulatory filing decisions.
Maintain compliance with Bank Secrecy Act (BSA), AML, OFAC, and related regulatory requirements.
Meet productivity and quality standards while managing assigned case workloads.
Participate in ongoing training to remain current with regulatory changes and emerging risks.
Monitor and manage the team inbox to address internal and external inquiries promptly, escalating issues as appropriate.
Serve as a liaison between External Investigations and Client Resolution teams to ensure effective communication and case coordination.
Maintain proficiency in approximately 35 applications used to retrieve and review documentation.
Ability to work in a high-stress, fast-paced, and rapidly changing environment with time-critical situations.

Research transactional anomalies and analyze information to detect patterns of unusual internal or external conduct.
Identify risk policy breakdowns and recognize potentially fraudulent activities.

Participate in professional and community associations relating to law enforcement and criminal investigations.
Distribute pertinent information to departments throughout the organization that may be affected by current Fraud trends. Develop, analyze, and report trends to the FIU Fraud Investigations Manager as required.
Analyze corporate needs and suggest creative ideas to enhance comprehensive corporate-wide fraud risk mitigation processes.

Age Requirements: Incumbents selected for Criminal Investigator positions are covered under special law enforcement provisions. This requires that applicants not exceed the maximum age for entry. The date immediately preceding an applicant's 37th birthday is the final date for selection. The age restriction does not apply if you served in a Federal civilian (not military) law enforcement officer (FLEO) position covered by special civil service retirement provisions, including early or mandatory retirement.
Medical Requirements: The duties of positions in this series require moderate to arduous physical exertion involving walking and standing, use of firearms, and exposure to inclement weather. Manual dexterity with comparatively free motion of finger, wrist, elbow, shoulder, hip, and knee joints is required. Arms, hands, legs, and feet must be sufficiently intact and functioning in order that applicants may perform the duties satisfactorily. Sufficiently good vision in each eye, with or without correction, is required to perform the duties satisfactorily. Allied Universal is hiring a Surveillance Investigator. The Surveillance Investigator will perform discreet mobile and stationary surveillance of a Claimant to confirm current activities and capabilities to assist with the administration of an Insurance claim.
No office to go to - travel daily to cases in the field!

RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conduct independent investigations of insurance claims across a range of coverage types, including workers' compensation, general liability, property and casualty, and disability
Utilize various surveillance techniques and equipment to monitor subjects covertly
Document and report observations, activities, and any relevant information in a clear and concise manner
Collaborate with other investigators and law enforcement agencies as needed to gather information and coordinate efforts
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to legal and ethical standards in conducting surveillance operations
QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE):
High school diploma or equivalent
Post offer, must be able to successfully complete the Allied Universal Investigations' training/orientation course
Prior educational or professional exposure to witness interviews or video monitoring
Prior educational or professional incident reporting and/or investigations experience
Flexibility to work varied and irregular hours/days including weekends and holidays
Ability to type reports in Microsoft Word format with minimal grammatical and punctuation errors
Proficient in utilizing laptop computers, video cameras and cell phones
Capable of maintaining focus and multitasking effectively in a dynamic environment
Demonstrated ability to manage stressful situations with composure and professionalism
Ability to work in a very independent environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS (NICE TO HAVE):
Associate's Degree or higher, preferably in Criminal Justice
Security/Loss Prevention experience
Military experience
Law enforcement experience
Prior insurance investigations experience

The Fraud Investigator is responsible for investigating, documenting, and/or approving the investigation and documentation of Fraud related alerts, cases, suspicious activity reports (SARs), and any other reports and/or referrals that could lead to such investigation. Position Accountabilities
Investigate internal and external fraud events perpetrated against AUB, its related subsidiaries, and stakeholders.
Document and decision complex alerts and cases to identify reportable suspicious activity. Ensure Suspicious Activity Reports are accurate and approved for filing within regulatory guidelines.
Conduct customer outreach as needed to follow up on status of fraud investigations and obtain additional information.
Review procedures covering the investigation and reporting of suspected financial fraud crimes. Recommend changes in processes and procedures to the FIU Fraud Investigations Manager.
Serve as a point of contact for other business lines with general questions or concerns about investigations. Assist in the oversight of processes for internal referral of questionable activity or behavior.
Serve as a representative of AUB with local, state, and/or federal law enforcement agents on cases referred by AUB or on cases requiring AUB's assistance as it relates to financial crimes investigations. May testify in court on behalf of AUB for fraud cases.
Participate in professional and community associations relating to law enforcement and criminal investigations.
Distribute pertinent information to departments throughout the organization that may be affected by current Fraud trends. Develop, analyze, and report trends to the FIU Fraud Investigations Manager as required.
Analyze corporate needs and suggest creative ideas to enhance comprehensive corporate-wide fraud risk mitigation processes.
Attends training seminars as deemed necessary by the direction of the FIU Fraud Investigations Manager or higher.

Position Qualifications
Education & Experience
Bachelor's degree in criminal justice, Business or a related field, or a combination of education and experience equivalent to such a degree--REQUIRED

Must have 5 or more years of banking, business, or criminal justice related experience--REQUIRED
Must have a minimum of 2 years' experience in fraud or financial crimes investigations--REQUIRED
Previous experience in delivering FinCEN SAR filings for Fraud events--REQUIRED
Experience utilizing Verafin Case Management System
Knowledge & Skills
