About This Role Join our engineering team as a Tool Designer where you'll use your knowledge in metal forming and tooling to help with quotes, product samples, tool designs, and production needs. You'll design new as well as improve current tools and oversee their build and launch. You'll also work with different teams across the company to provide technical advice on both new and existing products. Plant Administration Coordinator - Menasha Paper Mill With direction from the Mill Manager and the Division Financial group, the position manages the administrative functions for production cost analysis, payroll, accounts payable and receivable. What You'll Do Core Machining Operations: Set up, program, and operate 2-axis CNC lathes to produce precision tooling Plan work sequences and determine cutting parameters (feeds, speeds, depths) Work to close tolerances using precision measuring instruments Programming & Setup: Write and edit CNC programs Calculate dimensional relationships and input data to machine controllers Develop custom holding fixtures and "soft" jaws for non-standard parts Tool & Equipment Management: Select appropriate cutting tools and maintain tool inventory Perform preventive maintenance on CNC equipment Sharpen non-insert tools as needed Material Expertise: Machine various materials including hardened steels and exotic materials like carbide Determine appropriate speeds, feeds, and tools based on material characteristics Support & Training: Train and mentor CNC operators and/or apprentices Provide technical guidance and troubleshooting support Occasionally operate multiple machines simultaneously Maintenance & Safety: Maintain clean, organized work areas Follow Environmental Health & Safety procedures Collaborate with vendors on parts and tooling needs The role essentially combines advanced CNC machining skills with toolroom expertise, requiring both technical proficiency and the ability to work independently on custom, non-repetitive projects.
