Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Instruction Complete all required training with Aquatics Director and/or Assistant Aquatics Director as needed. Must be able to modify and offer alternatives to lesson objectives for participants. Arrive on time both physically and mentally prepared to teach at least 10minutes prior to the start of each scheduled lesson. Dress in appropriate Swim Instructor uniform. Have lesson areas, including equipment, cones, and rope, set up prior to class and put away after class. Communicate with families before or after each lesson what skills the child explored during the lesson. American Red Cross Program Knowledge Be familiar and comfortable teaching ages 4-18years. These stations may include walking/roving, and the use of various lifeguard stands. Respond to all illness and injury incidents around the entire pool facility immediately and appropriately perform Lifeguarding skills, First Aid, CPR, and other appropriate functions within your level of training. Be prepared to enter the water at any time and perform appropriate rescues as a situation requires. Caution swimmers regarding unsafe practices and safety hazards, consistently and professionally enforce pool rules and regulations. Update the information board; communicate with members and guests and provide general information on pool operations to members. Communicate any issues/concerns as they arise with the Aquatics Director and/or Assistant Aquatics Director. Attend and participate in all mandatory JCC staff meetings and departmental trainings.
