Overview:
Springfield Technical Community College is seeking a part-time Bilingual CNA Instructor to teach in our Certified Nurse Aide and Home Health Aide Training Program. The successful candidate will instruct and prepare students for the State Certified Nurse Aide Certification test and provide front-line service to students enrolled in the Non-Credit Workforce Training Course in the Nurse Aide field.
Responsibilities:
* Follow established curriculum and course content to provide lectures and hands-on instruction
* Create a learner-centered classroom environment and differentiate instruction based on student needs
* Evaluate training effectiveness to ensure students learn specific skill sets and knowledge needed for certification and career advancement
* Keep accurate attendance, grade, and skills information as required by the Department of Public Health and the College
* Establish and maintain a close and positive working relationship with clinical affiliates and coordinate students' clinical rotation
* Work collaboratively with other instructors and/or tutors
* Compile and report grade-related information in line with Workforce Development requirements
* Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
* Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) with a current and valid Massachusetts RN license
* At least two years of experience as a RN
* At least one year of experience in a nursing home facility providing care for the elderly or chronically ill
* Bilingual (Fluent in English & Spanish or English or Haitian Creole preferred)
* Ability to instruct and lead discussions
* At least one year of experience as a teacher, trainer, health care personnel instructor, or direct nurse aide supervisor with experience in lesson planning, lesson delivery, student evaluation, and remediation
