Adjunct Professor of Philosophy

Overview:
The School of the Humanities at Fairleigh Dickinson University is seeking part-time (adjunct) faculty to teach in-person sections of Ethics and possibly other Philosophy courses starting in Spring 2024. The ideal candidate will have a PhD in Philosophy with specialization in ethics, but we will consider candidates with advanced degrees in Philosophy or related fields, as well as those with experience in ethics or moral philosophy and a track record of excellent teaching.
Responsibilities:

* Teach in-person sections of Ethics and possibly other Philosophy courses

* Meet with students on the Florham Campus at 285 Madison Avenue, Madison NJ

* Design and deliver interactive, engaging, and relevant course content that is grounded in philosophical principles

* Maintain a commitment to teaching excellence and student success

* Be available to teach every semester going forward

Qualifications:

* Advanced degree (PhD preferred, Master's acceptable) in Philosophy or a related field

* Coursework, teaching, or professional experience involving ethics or moral philosophy

* Evidence of teaching effectiveness

* Ability to appreciate that FDU is not religiously affiliated and to teach in a way that does not advance any particular religious viewpoint
