POSITION OVERVIEW

Job Description
POSITION OVERVIEW
KIPP Indy Public Schools seeks an experienced Director of Assessment & Student Intervention who will coordinate strong operations, communication, and alignment across four areas of work: academic assessments, multi-tiered systems of support (MTSS), tutoring partnerships, and academic reporting. This role will report to the Chief Schools Officer, but will require a high-level of cross-team engagement to ensure KIPP Indy's 1,500 students are fully supported.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Academic Assessments
Serve as KIPP Indy's official Corporation Test Coordinator (CTC) and ensure KIPP Indy stays in full compliance with all IDOE testing requirements
Attend all CTC calls and trainings, disseminating information and adjusting practices as needed
Plan, communicate, and execute assessment administration (IDOE and internal assessments) in collaboration with school-based staff
Monitor on-site testing administration to support with troubleshooting, reporting procedures, and identify opportunities to strengthen practices
Hold school teams accountable to student investment strategies, make-up testing, and participation rates
Collaborate with the Managing Director of Data and Analytics to ensure availability of results to all necessary stakeholders
Collaborate with necessary stakeholders to ensure KIPP Indy's annual assessment plan meets all IDOE and KIPP Foundation requirements while best driving student engagement and results
Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS)
Oversee KIPP Indy's MTSS, ensuring region-wide alignment and compliance with applicable regulations
Monitor MTSS tracking system to ensure fidelity with updates and accuracy, following up with stakeholders as needed
Ensure comprehensive data reviews of students when determining interventions
Support teams with progress monitoring interventions and goals
Coordinate all intake and monitoring aspects when a student is placed on KIPP Indy's Alternative Educational Setting Program (AESP)
Tutoring Partnerships
Identify and steward strong tutoring partnerships that align to school goals and support student success
Collaborate with instructional staff, school-based, and the tutoring partner to ensure alignment in expectations, logistics, schedule, and goals are in place and understood across parties
Sustain strong communication across stakeholder groups that ensure all parties are held accountable to expectations
Evaluate the efficacy of tutoring partnerships, adjusting strategy to ensure maximum effectiveness
Academic Reporting
Act as the content expert and lead writer when it comes to academic reporting
Support stakeholders involved in potential grants or compliance items in understanding requirements and their roles
Supports school and region with on-site visits, meetings, and other reporting needs

About the Role
What You Will Do:
The Tag Staff Lead will supervise and be responsible for planning, teaching, and coordinating activities in the Tag Unit.
How You Will Lead:
Supervise and evaluate the Tag Unit Staff.
Provide opportunities for the unit so that each individual camper experiences success during camp.
Maintain Tag Unit hours.
Maintain guidelines for all staff during scheduled activities (i.e., all staff must swim with the children, etc.).
Help provide for the physical health and safety and the mental welfare of the campers.
Teach camping skills and appreciation of the out-of-doors.
Guide activities and experiences in the unit through use of scheduled activities provided by Day Camp Directors and activities that have been planned in Staff Training.
Assist program staff, craft staff, kitchen staff in special events and programs involving campers.
Help Tag Supervisor with scheduling of activities as well as unit staff time off.
Assume responsibility for physical health and safety and the mental welfare of the campers. Be responsible for unit cleaning at the end of each session and at the end of camp.
Keep attendance records and make daily reports as required.
Makes every effort to have a strong, cohesive staff team to provide the best program and atmosphere for the campers.
Set a good example for others in the areas of cleanliness, sanitation, punctuality, sharing, clean-up, sportsmanship, and manners.
Participate in all camp events.
Follow camp rules and regulations.
Establish break schedule for Staff (30-minute break daily, lunch break, and additional break time on the evening of the overnight.) The staff will be more successful when breaks are incorporated into the daily schedule.
While spending the night on Thursday nights Tag Staff will stay with campers and provide supervision throughout the night.
These are not the only duties to be performed. Some duties may be reassessed, and other duties may be assigned as required.

Duties and Responsibilities of Educational Advisor
* Implements strategies that foster consistent student participation, engagement, and retention in program services.
* Utilizes interactive and experiential learning models to build student motivation, teamwork, and confidence.
* Designs and facilitates workshops and group sessions on topics such as on topics such as study skills, goal-setting, college planning, FAFSA completion, leadership, personal growth, STEM, etc
* Guides students through college exploration, application, and financial aid processes, ensuring access to information and resources.
* Creates evaluations for TRIO ETS workshops, events and trips.
* Monitor course selection and make periodic grade reviews.
* Promotes workshops and engagement activities through newsletters, flyers, digital tools, and school visits to ensure strong visibility and participation.

* Collects and reviews student feedback and assessment data to inform continuous improvement of workshops and activities.
