Job Description
Weatherford is hiring for a Black Belt Lean Manager in Houston, Texas. This is a hands on, rewarding role where you will provide hands-on leadership to implement and drive the Weatherford Lean Program at the designated facilities. The Lean Manager spearheads the conversion to a lean manufacturing organization through the implementation of the Lean Methodology and creating a new culture of continuous improvement toward process efficiency. OPERATIONAL CAPABILTY
Engage in dialogue with Senior Leadership collaborating and clarifying business objectives to develop strategic and tactical Lean plans for the designated Hemisphere, including Flag Ship and other locations. Align execution of the Weatherford Lean Program to ensure efficiency and effectiveness of the broader R&M Fulfilment System. Implement Weatherford Lean Program for the designated Hemisphere, including Flag Ship and other locations delivering consistently year-over-year process efficiency improvements which translate into financial benefits to reduce Services and R&M (Repair & Maintenance) costs and/or general spending. Develop and drive Value Stream Mapping (VSM), including developing VSM continuous improvement road maps and kaizen plans. Identify, create, and sustain process standardization. Develop and implement standard work. Identify process improvement opportunities in collaboration with other functional leaders, employees, and customers. Prioritize opportunities and create and execute kaizen plans. Facilitate lean daily management, promote initiatives to create Lean culture including Gemba walks, 6S/visual management, kaizen, shop floor problem solving. Assist, teach, coach, and mentor Site Lean Specialists on: Hoshin Kanri and A3 thinking Develop and drive value stream mapping (VSM) VSM continuous improvement road maps and action plans. Identify, create, and sustain standard processes throughout the organization. Daily Shop Floor Management (DSFM) and Office Daily Management (ODM) implementation. Problem Solving Facilitation of both process and transactional improvement Kaizens Categorize opportunities as improvement opportunities as just do it activities, projects, or kaizen events. Facilitate lean daily management, promote initiatives to create Lean culture including Gemba walk, 6S/visual management. Teaching Lean tools / methodology Act as Lean SME for the Weatherford designated facilities.

PEOPLE MANAGEMENT & DEVELOPMENT
Site Lean Specialists report to the Lean Leader (3 to 5 direct reports) Teach Weatherford lean training curriculum. Mentor, influence and develop potential lean practitioner.
VISION & LEADERSHIP
Provide the necessary leadership to promote change and lean transformation efforts throughout the assigned facilities and across the organization
Qualifications
Required
Bachelor of Science degree in Industrial, Mechanical, Manufacturing or Electrical Engineering required Minimum of 7 years of experience in Lean Manufacturing leadership positions such Continuous Improvement Manager, Master Black Belt, Lean Transformation Manager, or similar role. Proven experience as Kaizen Facilitator Successful practical experience in VSM, Mixed Model Value Stream, 6S, 5Why, TPM, Standard Work, Mistake Proofing, SIPOC, Process Mapping, Kanban, SMED, Types of Waste & Waste Reduction, Visual Management, Shop Floor Management, Hoshin Planning, Cellular Manufacturing, PDCA and/or DMAIC cycles, and Design of Lean Site Layouts.
Preferred
Certified Lean Practitioner is strongly preferred

The Lean Manufacturing Manager is responsible for ensuring that business operations and efficient and effective and developed within the Lean Principles. They are responsible to develop a Lean Culture within the Muskegon facility and not just on the job floor. All initiated projects have to meet customer expectations and support the Kern-Liebers strategies. They must ensure proper management of resources to meet customers needs in the most cost effective way.
Requirements

Develop in close communication with the global Lean Group the Lean Roll Out Plan for the Muskegon facility

Participate in the development of the Kern-Liebers Lean Manufacturing strategies and programs (SMED, 5S, A3, Standard Work, VSM, Process Maps, SFM, LPA, problem solving, KPI's)

Work closely with the global team to leverage the available knowledge and best practice approaches

Tran and coach personnel on Lean Manufacturing principals as required

Manage the CIP program for the facility

Implementing and assuring standard production processes

Set up shop floor management and other lean tools

Develop tools which will help to manage the manpower capacity and needs for the facility based on sales volumes and future sales expectations

Work on process improvements including; Lean Management, Production System, plant layouts, etc.

Control and minimize inventories, labor overtime, premium freight and repair expenses through personnel development on Lean tools

Pursues cost reduction through management of material cost, lead-time, reduced rework, reduced manufacturing cycle time, etc... while fully achieving customer requirements

Ensure a safe work environment and address safety issues as needed

Any other duties as assigned

Must have a Bachelors Degree in Business or Engineering

Minimum 10 years experience in a manufacturing environment

Extensive Management experience and implementation of Lean principles'

Very strong Engineering and analytical skills

Strong oral and written communication skills. Ability to communicate complex projects and concepts to contacts with varying experience levels and Top Management

TS 16949 and ISO 9000 knowledge required

Automotive manufacturing experience is a plus

Microsoft Office (word, excel, powerpoint, project)

Six Sigma experience is a plus

SAP experience a plus

Spanish speaking a plus

German speaking is a plus

Mission:

Implement and drive industrial / continuous improvement programs to improve site cost competitiveness and efficiency of our processes, practices and site organization
Responsibilities

Leads Continuous Improvement programs deployment across the site by supporting the 2 pillars of I3 : improving Working conditions with MUST HAVES and generating margin improvement Cultivates and promotes a strong continuous improvement culture across the site
Follow performance management system for the site with respect of BA guidelines
Facilitate/lead lean workshops (Kaizen, Hoshin,...) for quick improvements Perform assessments on the site to evaluate industrial maturity and gap discrepancy as per Group standards
Shop floor support to analyse processes and practices to enable safety / efficiency / quality continuous improvement initiative generation, also with the support of Imerys Centers of Excellence and other Business Areas Centers of Excellence
Actively support the local team in production capacities designing/engineering: define and specify Process Equipment, issue Process Specifications for Inquiry.Generates detailed continuous improvement initiatives across the site to generate savings
Maintains and creates appropriate documentation for reports, project execution, and data analysis
Develops a strong expertise in mineral processing and provides mentorship for the on-site process teams, also via technical trainings
Find ideas to upgrade existing processes and define new ones
Submit regular reports reflecting project financials, expenditures, savings, and any site performance KPI applying also best practices when required.
Leads effective operational processes' implementation Monitors progress of continuous improvement projects and related savings, including process management improvement, process modification, energy optimization
Key interfaces: ensures tight coordination with COO and I Cube teams Culture changes: support behavior changes (agile way of work,..) to sustain continuous improvement efforts beyond project activities.
Profile/Competencies
Engineer with more than 2 years of experience in industry, (preferably in Germany),Lean Six Sigma certification (Green or Black belt) is a plus
