Licensed optician job description

The purpose of this role is to provide quality customer service while satisfying the needs of For Eyes customers through the sale and dispensing of eyeglasses, non-prescription sunglasses, contact lenses, and accessories. To uphold Company's standards of excellence in customer service; encourage customer recommendations and repeat business.
What would you do? - The Specifics

+ Meet sales and company objectives.

+ Follow the For Eyes philosophy of the 3 C's: "Take care of the Customer, the Company and Co-workers"

+ Assist with dispensing eyeglasses and contact lenses to customers, as permitted by state law.

+ Perform insertion and removal training of contact lenses to customers, as permitted by state law.

+ Educate clients on proper eyeglass and contact lens care.

+ Maintain accurate and organized patient records.

+ Assist Optometric Technician, Receptionist, and Contact Lens Technician when necessary.

+ Answer, screen, and forward incoming phone calls in accordance with For Eyes protocol.

+ Maintain visual merchandising according to Brand and Company Standards.

+ Foster Teamwork and maintain a positive working relationship with your co-workers, supervisors, and optometry practice that supports and contributes to exam growth, high capture rate, and delivering sales goals

+ Deliver individual store sales goals, customer service goals and established key indicator goals and objectives

+ Comply with policy, procedures, and federal, state and local regulatory requirements like but not limited to privacy, discrimination, safety and labor. Report non-compliance observations and concerns accurately and promptly

Center For Eye Health partners with Vision Associates to provide best-in-class optical dispensary management at their location. Licensed Opticians will work independently within the Center For Eye Health location with the full support of the Vision Associates Network.

Responsibilities

• Work with patients to solve their visual needs and build loyalty to the practice and dispensary.
• Analyze, resolve, and correct customer service issues.
• Provide an excellent patient experience while working towards meeting persona, practice, and company goals.
• Learn and support the policies and procedures for opening, closing, and operating the dispensary.
• Ensure best practices are delivered to ensure patient satisfaction.
• Work independently with regular communication and support from your District Manager.
• Foster positive working relationships with the practice doctors, leadership, and staff.

Required Skills

• Previous experience in the retail or optical industry.
• State licensure required.
• Strong communication skills (verbal and written), including strong interpersonal skills.
• Excellent problem-solving skills.
• Ability to adjust priorities and manage time wisely in a fast-paced environment.

The successful Licensed Optical Sales Manager delivers excellence and leads by example to ensure a professional and positive experience for all patients, customers, colleagues, and business partners. They supervise, coach, and develop optical staff to the next level and oversee:

Driving of sales and controlling expenses

Accountability to achieve personal and store goals

Execution of effective operational and procedural processes

Engaging with patients and customers to fulfill prescriptive eyewear needs

Requirements

What we need:

Licensed Optician as required by state

Sales ability to Connect with customers, Uncover their needs, Recommend items based on their needs and Educate the customer on their purchases as outlined in our CURE selling model

Polished and professional communication and customer-centric service skills

Experience with POS, computer and timekeeping systems, and Microsoft office

Capable of working with and servicing and interacting with diverse people

Self-motivation, action-oriented, and a creative problem solver open to feedback and learning

Reliability and punctuality in attendance to keep store hours and coverage in the store

Flexibility for scheduling, and able to work weekends, select holidays, as well as special sales events

Ability to meet the physical needs of the job and multi-task in a busy work environment
