Duties and Responsibilities
Responsible for tying or assisting with tying material onto racks with wire or chain for safe movement through the galvanizing process.
Use wire to tie material to bow racks, universal racks, or other tooling to prepare for the pickling tanks using specific training methods for the galvanizing process.
Use rope to lift and prepare material for the pickling tanks using specific training methods for galvanizing process.
Operates and visually inspects all equipment (i.e. forklifts, cranes, tooling, etc.) prior to usage to ensure no maintenance is needed.
Learns to rack a variety of materials by assisting others.
Racks, unracks or cleans material in order as directed.
May learn to use a torch to dry materials before hot dipping.
May clean material using a grinder, file, or brush as specified by the customer.
Inspects material for sags, runs, drips, bare spots and reports it to management.
Uses bolt cutters to remove wire from product and tooling and disposes of it per established procedures.
Learns to inspect materials for holes, smothered spots, etc.
Perform housekeeping activities to keep production area and equipment clean and organized.
Confers with supervisors to report material conditions that could result in production or customer problems by form of damage or quality issues.
May assist with training new production helpers as specified by management.

The Production Worker is responsible for assembling a variety of products, performing in process quality checks to ensure the products meet quality standards, assisting with job order pulling and packaging, as well as assisting with shipping and receiving. Production worker may also be asked to work in other areas to help the flow of production.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
· Assemble products, in proper sequence to design and quality standards.
· Assist with fabrication of parts.
· Assist with larger freight shipment preparation.
· Ensure parts are free of damage before use.
· Identify parts based on job traveller and assembly drawings
· Test to ensure that product is correct to all specifications provided on Job Traveller
· Work with individuals from across the Company to achieve goals.

Knowledge and Experience
Minimum:
· Three or more years of related work experience
· Electrical assembly and/or testing experience
· Ability to demonstrate knowledge of crimping, stripping and common mechanical assembly tools
· Ability to work safely with electricity
Prefer candidates with the following experience:
· Worked in an ISO 9001 facility
· Worked in a facility using lean practices
· Ability to demonstrate knowledge of tools such as calibrated instruments: multimeters, hi-pot testers, calipers, tape measures, torque wrenches, force gages; pneumatic tools such as rivet guns; electric screw drivers
Physical Requirements
The physical requirements described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
Regular Activities:
· Lifting and maneuvering heaters from raw materials to assembly to testing
· Fine motor skills for manual mechanical and electrical assembly
· Regular crimping and stripping of wires
· Standing the duration of shift
· Be able to lift up to 50 lbs
Occasional Activities:
· Packaging finished goods
· Able and willing to work on different production areas and /or product lines as assigned by supervisor.
