ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise the Payroll Assistant in the processing of bi-weekly payroll, ensuring accuracy and timely payment to employees.
Provide backup payroll support when the Payroll Assistant is unavailable.
Manage employee and employer contributions to 403(b) & 457(b) pensions, including bi-weekly, quarterly, and semi-annual submissions.
Review ADP GL Interface registers and upload to accounting software.
Maintain bi-weekly salary reports and perform payroll-related calculations (COLA, retro pay, vacation accruals, year-end reports).
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll tax regulations.
Respond to employee inquiries on pay, deductions, and garnishments; resolve issues promptly.
Update ADP profiles and process voluntary deductions or changes.
Collaborate with HR to maintain accurate employee data.
Review new hire onboarding in ADP using a 13-point checklist; flag missing or incorrect documentation.
Lead payroll-related audit responses and prepare required reports, including year-end 403(b) testing.
Generate benefits reports for Accounts Payable.
Support efforts to move payroll processes from manual tasks to automated systems.
Participate in meetings, training, and organizational initiatives.
Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree or equivalent years of experience in payroll, accounting, finance, or related field.
Strong knowledge of payroll systems; experience with ADP Workforce Now preferred.
Familiarity with Carrier Connection and payroll automation initiatives.
Ability to supervise and mentor staff while managing hands-on payroll responsibilities.
Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfortable with public speaking and networking.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications.

Ensures heating and cooling systems are operational.

Vacuum, sweep, scrub, wax, and polish floors using brooms, mops or powered machines to strip floors.

Assist with Laundry Services.
Clean and turnover housing units.

Assists in examining the building for safety hazards; reports deficiencies to Maintenance Supervisor, Director of Building Operations, and/or Administrator of the Facility.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Experience with custodial work.
Knowledge of safety hazards and proper use of various cleaning and sanitizing solutions.
Ability to perform basic repairs and operate tools or equipment used in routine maintenance.

Support the Administrator in the overall management of the Family Shelter.
Responsible for direct supervision of departmental teams, including administrative, social services, program/early education, maintenance, security, and custodial staff.
Assist in recruitment and work assignments for department staff in collaboration with Directors.
Filling in for the Administrator and other departmental positions if such positions become vacant or are temporarily absent.
Conduct daily inspections to ensure management staff are present and the physical premises are in order.

Assess facility repair and improvement needs and make them known to the Administrator.

Homes for the Homeless (HFH) is searching for a dedicated Family Services Supervisor for our Families w/ Children facility located in the Jamaica area of Queens, NY. The Family Services Supervisor, will play a pivotal role in our organization, in assisting the Director of Family Services. The Family Services Supervisor will be joining a supervisory team that is responsible for maintaining the critical files required by DHS and OTDA, and assisting in training and onboarding new staff members. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Assist the Director of Family Services with the day-to-day operation of the program.
Assist with the supervision of family services case managers.
Conduct case audits.
Able to network with outside agencies to increase the department's referrals sources.
Manage and maintain several program reports.
Maintain critical files required by DHS.
Carry a case load when there is a staff vacancy.
Able to consult cases with family service staff.
Assist with filing, new intakes, unit inspections.
Train new staff.
Conduct client case conferences.
Ability to work with a diverse population.
Network with outside agencies to provide the staff with additional referral resources
QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor's degree in related field.
At least one year of supervisory experience.
Proficient in Microsoft Suite.
Knowledge of Microsoft word and excel.
Bilingual is a plus.

Organize and supervise team games and sporting events for families to enjoy together.
Lead arts & crafts projects.
Ensure the safety and engagement of families in assigned activities.
Assist with events, fairs, holiday parties, and any other program events.
This position requires flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to accommodate program schedule and special events.
Additional duties and projects as assigned by the Family Programs Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's degree preferred.
Experience leading activities with children, teens, and adults.
Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Fluency in languages other than English, particularly Spanish, strongly preferred.

Ability to lift 40 or more pounds.
Ability to sit on the floor, bend down, and pick up children throughout the course of an eight-hour shift.

Supervise safety staff providing direction and instruction to staff on routine security tasks for assigned shift.
Maintain camera surveillance of the interior and exterior of the facility.
Enforce facility rules and regulations.
Investigate incidents or interactions.
Act as the Fire Safety Director and staffs the Fire Command Station.
QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Security or law enforcement experience with one-year supervisory experience preferred.
Experience working with the NYC Department of Homeless Services and DHS CARES system is strongly preferred.
Valid NYS Security License.
Current 8-hour & 16-hour certificates.
Valid F-02 (Certificate of Fitness for Fire Guard for Shelters) is a must.
Valid F-80 (Fire Safety Coordinator Certificate of Fitness) is a must.
