HOURS:
1st Shift
The Counter Sales position will work as a part of a team reporting to the Profit Center Manager. This role is the entry-level position in the Sales department and will be responsible for operational processes and procedures in the respective department. Each Counter Salesperson is responsible for maintaining a team approach within the company and maintaining proper housekeeping in the Store and personal area.
Key Responsibilities:
- Staffing the Sales Counter, Greeting and Servicing Customers
- Responsible for Order Entry, Sales Transactions, and Quotes
- Responsible for Stocking, Cycle Counting, and Organization of Inventory
- Relationship building with Internal Customers and Departments, Suppliers and External Customers
- Providing excellent service by Greeting, approaching, and assisting customers in their purchases in a friendly, courteous, and helpful manner
- Responsible for daily Store Opening, Store Closing, and Cash Drawer Procedures
- Direct customer complaints and concerns to appropriate management or designated Customer Service Representative
Successful candidates will have:

+ Sales:
+ New Business Development
+ Responsible for aggressively developing a pipeline of new business focused on stocking dealers and projects.
+ Introduce new products and complementary products to new and existing dealers.
+ Develop and carry out strategies to increase market share of our products with new and existing dealers.
+ Execute and implement company promotions and programs.
+ Prospect and develop new business targets/opportunities.
+ Account Management
+ Responsible for maintaining and protecting existing dealer business.
+ Provide product knowledge support to dealer base.
+ Address and resolve customer complaints and/or claims.
+ Set-up and attend trade shows.
+ Continue building relationships through excellent customer service and product resolution.
+ Local Product Purchasing:

Non-Essential Duties of the Position
+ Participate in location sales meetings as required.
+ Other duties assigned by supervisor.
Essential Qualifications for The Position
+ Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and/or at least five to seven years of relevant experience
+ At least five years' experience in a commodity lumber distribution environment
+ At least five years of lumber & treated lumber sales experience
+ Above average computer skills
+ The ability to multi-task in a sometimes fast paced environment
