This position will require you to spend a significant portion of your time writing research grants, and the balance of your time providing research direction on projects in the lab either as a Principal Investigator, or as a Key Technical Personnel. During the initial stages of your career, you will receive mentorship and training on grant writing from several experienced researchers at Lynntech including from personnel with backgrounds in Engineering, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Computer Science etc. As you progress in your career, you will transition into a role where you are not only writing your own grant proposals, but also providing mentorship to other junior level grant writers. As you secure funding from the SBIR program, you will have the opportunity to grow your own research group with multiple practitioner personnel reporting into your function to help execute multi-disciplinary projects and technologies to set them up for commercialization. The long-term vision for this position involves the ability to directly influence customer-driven R&D and new product development. We are looking to hire multiple people for this position, at varying experience levels. A Ph.D. degree with research experience in a relevant field is required. Grant writing experience and execution of projects stemming from grants is desirable but not necessary.     Job Description Laboratory Utility 1.0 Corporate Job Title Laboratory Utility 2.0 Reporting Relationships Lab Manager Pick-up, transport and deliver samples, equipment, supplies, documents and other work related items as per the direction of designated Operations personnel. Perform these tasks while acting in a professional and dignified manner so as to maintain the Company's respected and trusted reputation. 4.0 Minimum Requirements • Requires a H.S. Degree (or equivalent). • Must have a valid motor vehicle driver's license. • Must have a maintained and insured personal vehicle, unless a Company use vehicle is provided. • Must be dependable and be able to work independently with minimal supervision. Must be able to effectively communicate and maintain a professional appearance. 5.0 Responsibilities As instructed by the Laboratory Department and under the strict guidelines described in the Corporate manuals: • Maintain regular contact with the Laboratory Department in order to deliver and samples. • Possess and maintain a vehicle in order to perform duties in a timely manner. • Operate vehicle in a safe manner. 6.0 Fitness for Duty - Physical Demands Workday may consist of 8-12 hours; however, this can vary day to day or shift to shift. Some of the retain work is performed outdoors, wearing full Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) and could include possible exposure to high and low temperatures for prolonged duration of time. Some of the work is performed indoors or in a truck under climate-controlled conditions.
