This position is responsible for managing and coordinating the installation and startup of a large volume of Caterpillar generator packages. This role will supervise skilled MMC field technicians, and work closely with project management peers, third-party packagers, site contractors, and our customers by leading onsite resources, addressing technical inquiries and ensuring the seamless application of the Caterpillar and ancillary equipment.
Position Duties/Responsibilities
* Plans, manages and coordinates all aspects of new project commissioning from initial delivery of equipment on the customer jobsite to customer acceptance while ensuring a smooth and efficient process.

Position Requirements
Required:
* High School Diploma or GED
* 10+ years' experience installing and commissioning power?generation equipment, or equivalent background in project management, purchasing, or customer service ideally in the electric?power sector and with Caterpillar products.
* 5+ years of leadership experience
* Advanced computer skills, including experience using Microsoft Office software, as Word and Excel, AutoCad, data base systems and the ability to operate CAT PC and Main Frame Programs.
* Thorough understanding of the installation and application of electrical and mechanical products.

Position Summary
This position performs mechanical and electrical services on engines, generators, UPS, switchgear, automatic transfer switch, and other related system products for the Power System's Service Department. Representative duties include providing first time installation, commissioning, coordinating start-ups with other systems (i.e., switchgear, UPS, etc.), performing service and repairs, troubleshooting electrical and mechanical problems, writing service reports, recording time assigned to jobs and maintaining company issued truck and equipment.

The successful student will complete a 2 year Associate Degree in Caterpillar Dealer Technician/Diesel Technician Program, as well as multiple paid internships, ultimately graduating with little to no debt depending on grades attained.
Responsibilities
As a Think BIG student, you will:
* Spend 8 weeks in school, learning theory and taking hands on courses in becoming a Caterpillar Dealership Technician
* Spend the next 8 weeks at your local Caterpillar Dealer, doing a paid internship, putting theory that you've learned to real world situations
* Overall the course will take 2 years to complete
The course will take you through a variety of different tasks, including but not limited to:
* Electronics
* Diagnostics
* Engines and Transmissions
* Hydraulics
* General Education, such as Mathematics, that supports the program
The program will reimburse you for your per semester schooling cost, depending on your grades throughout that semester. A student who takes the program seriously and makes an effort to succeed in both school and at the work place will be ultimately rewarded with:

Position Summary
The Technician performs mechanical services on new and used heavy equipment in the service shop area. The position is responsible for testing, repairing, and rebuilding heavy equipment. Additional responsibilities include ordering parts, writing service reports, return of parts, core returns, assigning time to jobs and adhering to all safety regulations. The Technician is also responsible for housekeeping (5S) and properly maintaining company issued tools and equipment.
Responsibilities
* Adheres to all safety rules and maintains good housekeeping (5S) in the shop area.
* Diagnoses and repairs equipment in the service shop.
* Completes all required reporting for service time in an accurate and efficient manner; this includes writing service reports, properly allocating time to each job, and tracking parts charged, and parts returned.
* Maintains customer satisfaction by understanding customer needs and deadlines, attempting to complete scheduled repairs and service as safely, timely and accurately as possible.
* Maintains company issued equipment and tools, keeping them in good working order.
Qualifications
* Knowledge, skills, and abilities typically acquired through a high school education or equivalent. Technical background provided through a vocational school with studies in diesel equipment repair.
* 3 to 5 years of mechanical experience with heavy equipment, preferably with Caterpillar. Strong working knowledge of hydraulics, power train and electrical systems.
* Solid understanding of work area metrics and takes responsibility for improving metrics and results. Understands the value of 6 Sigma in the workplace and contributes when asked. Applies initiative, demonstrating a "self-starting" ability to daily work and proactively making improvements to the work process.
* Exhibits good problem-solving skills; can identify problems, solicit other's opinions, and offer valid solutions. Interprets and applies policies, procedures, and guidelines. Demonstrates a basic understanding of warranty administration.
* Responds to customer requests with a sense of urgency, treating customers as his/her highest priority. Takes personal responsibility with customers, keeping commitments and following through on requests.
* Can project professionalism with both internal and external customers, including personal appearance along with friendly, courteous treatment of peers, subordinates, and customers.
