Qualifications
Responsibilities:
Sets up and operates a variety of machine tools such as lathes, milling machines, shapers, planers, and precision grinders to make metal parts, mechanisms, tools, or machines to exacting tolerances and dimensions. Interprets blueprints, sketches, and engineering specifications; determines sequence of operations, number of cuts required, and method of setup; uses a variety of machinist's hand tools and precision measuring instruments; makes standard shop computations relating to dimensions of work, tooling, feeds, and speeds; measures, marks, and scribes dimensions and reference points to lay out stock for machining; fits and assembles precision parts into mechanical equipment and determines material, parts, and equipment required. Some machines may be numerically controlled. May monitor and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures and certify/test product.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent with 1-3 years of related experience. Post high school coursework or professional certification preferred.

CNC Milling Machinist

Corvid's manufacturing team, Goldbug, is looking to add an experienced CNC Milling Machinist that can immediately contribute to on-going and new production efforts. The candidate will manufacture aerospace parts with 3 and 5 axis machining centers using industry-standard machining techniques and practices while adhering to quality assurance procedures and processes. Position will require individual contributions in addition to coordinating with Machine Shop staff to determine work holding, tool holding, and tools required for jobs. The position will allow the opportunity for an experienced machinist to do both initial prototypes and production - ideally working a variety of tasks to efficiently produce the unique products Corvid develops for the warfighter.
Tasking will include:
Independently set up, prove out jobs, and run production while adjusting speeds, feeds, and CNC code as needed (with support of programmers)
Assemble tools and toolholders and set with pre-setter
Anticipate tooling and material needs, monitor and request inventory as needed
Manufacture parts using conventional machining equipment (manual machines, saws, etc.) and other CNC equipment as required
Maintain and update manufacturing information as per company directive.
Maintain safe operations in compliance with safety procedures and regulations.
Perform equipment preventative maintenance as per manufacturer's requirements as well repair and test machinery ensure functionality and performance
Skills/Qualifications:
Candidate must be a US Citizen
Candidate must possess a High School Diploma or equivalent - machining or technical certification preferred (through High School or other educational institution)
Position requires at least 3 years of experience operating 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC machining centers (HAAS, Fanuc, or Okuma Controls experience is a plus)
Demonstrated ability to setup, prove out and run CNC machines, edit CNC programs, assemble and set CNC tooling, and manufacture work holding fixtures with limited support
Experienced with digital and analog precision measuring instruments
Able to read and understand drawings and specifications with a working knowledge of the Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing system (GD&T)
Possess knowledge of work holding, tool holding, and cutting tools used in CNC working environment
Preferred candidate will have an aptitude for math and basic computer skills
Position will require the ability to stand for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds

Roush Yates Manufacturing Solutions is a precision CNC parts manufacturing organization with expertise in multi-axis machining of metal parts with complex geometries. We produce machined parts for the automotive, aerospace, military and industrial industries.
Responsibilities
Operate 3, 4 and 5-axis CNC milling equipment, to manufacture parts to print and instructions provided.
Adjust or operate machine tools used to perform precision machining operations.
Knowledge of various types of workholding.
Knowledge of automatic part/pallet loading systems, and ability to learn more about them.
Ability to set up and adjust machine tools.
Monitor machining processes during the machining process and assess tool life limits.
Maintain machine tools in proper operational condition.
Manufacture parts within all provided tolerance and specifications.
Measure, examine, or test completed units to check for defects and ensure conformance to specifications, using precision instruments and recording data in our ERP system (ProShop).
Complete accurate and timely system transactions.
Study sample parts, blue prints, drawings, or engineering information to determine methods or sequences of operations needed to fabricate products.
Job Qualifications
2+ Years of experience in CNC machining, or combination of Certificate or Associates in Manufacturing related field and some years of work experience in manufacturing.
High school diploma or general education degree (GED) is required.
Experience operating CNC 3, 4 and/or 5 axis mills. Experience with setting up is preferred, but not required.
Ability to run proven programs.
Ability to use variable and attribute measuring tools, and/or ability to learn to use new measuring equipment; ie. Micrometers, Calipers, Bore Gauges, plug and ring gages, thread gages.
Ability to manufacture parts within tolerance and specifications, including good understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerance per AMSE Y14.5.
In depth understanding of manual & CNC equipment capability, part processing, and machining.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS
Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. There will be long periods of standing. Must follow company established safety procedures and meet minimum vision standards, corrected or uncorrected, as follows: Snellen 14/18, 20/25 or better, Jaeger Type 2 at 14 inches, or Ortho-Rated 8.
