Principal Responsibilities:
Coordinates/Directs Tooling Specialists.
Interact with Crew Supervisor, other team leaders, Engineering, and Manufacturing Specialists to assess requirements, develop plans, and provide needed materials and direction for the purpose of assisting tooling specialists to safely operate equipment and meet or exceed the requirements of manufacturing.
REPORTS TO Directly to the Tool Room Supervisor RESPONSIBILITIES ? Responsible for placement of tooling orders and related components, securing tooling quotes when necessary
Maintain a monthly physical inventory of tooling, reordering replacement tools as required, to support production
Supports the daily operations of the tool room equipment. Monitor on-going tool quality by maintaining contact with manufacturing (i.e. Crew Supervisors, Manufacturing Team Leaders and Utility Specialist.
Maintain Tool Life Tracking System ? Provide support to manufacturing operations by facilitating problem solving and continuous improvement
Fabricate and repair jigs, fixtures and Marposs verification/end of lot rods to support manufacturing as needed
Support and monitor Tool Receiving and inspection records. Perform inspection of product related tooling as needed
Support training as needed
Assure production readiness of Tool and Die
Support daily/monthly operator PMs

Verify that all machined details meet print and router specifications, using precision measuring instruments and recording data results. Responsible to ensure first piece inspection is completed for multiple piece runs.
Monitor and maintain proper cleanliness of machine and work area on a daily basis.
Requirements
A minimum of two years of trade school, vocational education or apprenticeship
A minimum of three to five years of CNC machining experience
General machining knowledge, shop math, precision measuring instruments, blueprint reading and GD&T
Part and tool probing
Experience with high speed machining preferred (16 - 27k RPM)

Manual MachinistLocation: Indianapolis, IN Shift: 1st Shift | Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:45pm Pay: $20/hr+ Depending on experience Type: Temp-to-Hire Pro Resources is currently hiring a Manual Machinist for a long-standing metal manufacturing company in Indianapolis. This is a great long-term role with steady overtime and a consistent day shift schedule.
Job Responsibilities:
Set up and operate manual and CNC machining equipment, including mills, lathes, presses, and cutting tools.
Interpret and work from blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings to meet production requirements.
Measure, inspect, and verify dimensions using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools.
Adjust machine settings and tooling to maintain product accuracy and quality standards.
Perform routine equipment maintenance and basic troubleshooting to ensure optimal machine performance.
Monitor production processes and make necessary adjustments to maintain workflow and meet deadlines.
Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment following established safety protocols.
Schedule & Overtime:
Monday-Friday, 7:00am-3:45pm
Expected overtime: approximately 10 hours weekly
Typical Saturday overtime: 4-5 hours
Requirements:
Previous experience operating manual machining equipment required; CNC experience preferred but not mandatory.
Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.
Proficient with precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges, etc.).
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Ability to stand, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
Manual dexterity and ability to work with small components and precision equipment.
