Perform quality checks on welded metal parts at different stages through the process.

Work in both metric as well as the U.S. standard units of measure.

Produces set-ups and adjustment holding tolerances to blueprint specification.

Role and Responsibilities:
Operates and programs manual mills or computer numerically controlled ( CNC ) machine in a low to medium production volume environment. To include:
· Machine (drill, mill and tap) a wide assortment of sometimes intricate and expensive castings, forgings, weldments and machined parts.
· Inspect and verify parts with hand tools (micrometers, caliper) and/or hard gaging; and be accountable for own parts.
· Set 3 axis position stops, fixture offsets, select proper feeds, speeds and tools, develop and fabricate basic fixtures.
· Perform operator intervened operations that are required by program sequences, utilizing G/M codes.
· Program, set-up, run parts, inspect, and make adjustments to produce conforming parts with no supervision.
· Maintain a safe and orderly production area.
· Complete programming of parts including: set-up, run parts, inspect, and make adjustments to produce conforming parts in an independent manner. (Level III)
· Process machine parts completely and independently (start to finish), developing fixtures as needed, set proper feeds and speeds, leave appropriate material for next operation. (Level III)
· Maintain a safe and orderly production area in accordance with 6S policies/protocols. (Level III)
· Take initiative to identify ways to improve efficiency, without cutting corners. (Level III)

JOB SUMMARY: The CNC Swiss/Mill Turn Machinist programs, sets up, and operates Swiss style and Mill Turn CNC machines along with a variety of other machine tools. CNC SWISS/MILL TURN MACHINIST ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
Level I
Basic shop math skills.

Position Summary: This position is an advanced machinist role within the Rework Department setting up and operating both manual and CNC machines. The employee will operate these machines working from blueprints, sketches, and router sheets on a wide variety of hardware. The Opportunity: CNC Machinist (A & B Shift)
Your Role: The CNC Machinist is responsible for the set-up and operation of a variety of CNC machines. You will set up, operate, and manufacture products according to blueprint specifications and customer requirements.
Reports To: Machining Supervisor
What We're Looking For:
Previous experience with the setup and operation of CNC Mills or Lathes
Ability to read blueprints
Knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerances (GD&T)
Ability to conduct a final inspection of a product to ensure that it is free from defects and ready for the next stage of production.
Qualifications:
Required
High school diploma or GED equivalent
3 plus years experience in a machine shop environment
3 plus years of experience working with vertical mill machines
Preferred
Associates in precision machining
Experience with multi-axis CNC milling with fanuc controls, MAZAK, or similar.
Experience in horizontal mill machines

A reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this position is $17.00-$32.00 per hour with a 10% shift differential. The wage range for this role considers a wide range of factors when making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets; experience and training; licensure and certifications; and other business and organizational requirements.
