Set up and rig large parts, including those weighing between 20,000 and 50,000 pounds. Utilize cranes and other heavy equipment to move and position large components. Solve complex machining problems, including determining appropriate tools and techniques for specific tasks. Ensure high precision and quality of machined parts through detailed measurement and inspection. Requirements: Proven experience with CNC or manual machining (specific experience level will determine pay scale). Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints. Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail. Willingness to learn and advance from entry-level to experienced machinist roles. Previous experience with both small and large CNC machines. Shift Openings: 1st & 2nd shifts, 8-10 hour shifts Pay Ranges for CNC Machinist: JR CNC MACHINIST - at least 1-2-year experience, $20-23/hr Mid-level- CNC Machinist - 3-5 years' experience, $23-26/hr SR CNC Machinist - 5+ years' experience, $26-30/hr Responsibilities for CNC Machinist: Blueprint reading, understanding symbols and interpreting complex drawings Setting up either castings or fabrications Creating and modifying G-Code and operation of CNC equipment and manual machines CAM programming preferred CNC Machining of complex and high precision parts in metal and plastic Part quality and inspection Demonstrate quality craftsmanship, with a desire to produce the best quality components possible Responsible for fluid level maintenance of the assigned machine while he/she is working on that machine. Qualifications needed for CNC Machinist: Experience with CNC programming (Fanuc (primary), Fagor and Miltronics). Experience machining fabrications and castings. Responsibilities: * Performs set ups of large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pump components and operations of large Vertical & Horizontal Lathes used to repair and overhaul Large Liquid Rind Vacuum Pumps & Compressors. * Interprets blueprints/drawings to determine critical dimensions, etc. Ability to read Micrometers, Vernier Calipers, Dial Indicators & other precision measuring & test equipment as required. * Able to maintain low tolerances as indicated by specifications or drawings as low as .0005" at times. * Understands how to select appropriate cutting tools for various metals. Understands how to determine speeds and feeds to obtain proper surface finish. * Able to work overtime; typically throughout the week and occasionally on weekends. * Safe operation of Forklift within a Machine Shop environment. Safe Over Head Crane operation. Adheres to all company EH&S & QMS processes. * Lifting and Rigging of heavy components of various configurations & weights. Assisting in the disassembly, reassembly, repair and rebuilding of Large Liquid Ring Vacuum Pumps. * Other responsibilities as assigned. Requirements: * Applicants will be required to demonstrate knowledge of machine setup, as well as usage of machine controls and capabilities. * 3+ years of experience as a machine operator/Machinist. * 2+ or more years of experience reading and interpreting blueprints. * 1+ or more years of experience working on king style boring mills (or vtls) * Ability to effectively and safely use a variety of tools and equipment, including but not limited to depth gauges, bore gauges, height gauges, feeler gauges, micrometers, calipers, deburring tools, die grinders, drill presses, and overhead lifting equipment. Core Competencies: * Proficiency with prioritizing and meeting multiple deadlines. * Ability to convert between metric and US standard units of measure. * Ability to deal with problems involving several variables * Ability to use standard problem-solving methods (ie. 5 Whys) as trained * Ability to effectively share information about job duties in one-on-one and small group situations to supervisor, customers, clients, and other employees of the organization. Preferences: * HS Diploma or GED preferred. Higher Education or certificate is a plus. * Experience with manual machining such as VTL/Boring Mill/ or Horizontal Lathe. Brands would include but not limited to Cincinnati and King brand. * Proven ability to set up and operate Manual Machines, work centers, specializing in tool changes and in-process offset adjustments.
