We are currently seeking 2 Machinists for our Gramercy, LA refinery. Job Summary/Objective This role is responsible for setting up and performing various types of machining on any type of rough or finished stocks or parts. Essential Functions / Qualities / Skills Reads and interpret blueprints, charts, and sketches. Know shop mathematics and can thoroughly plan own work. Set up and operate machines to fabricate or repair parts within close tolerances. Fabricate and fits all types of journal bearings, couplings, etc. Does bench and floor work. Knows thoroughly the working properties of the materials handled. Operates and directs the operation of weight-lifting devices in moving heavy material or equipment to and from the work area. Dismantles inspects for sources of trouble, repairs, and reassembles all types of machinery and equipment in the plant as required.
