As a Manual Machinist you will be responsible for setting up and operating a variety of machine tools to produce precision parts and instruments.
What You'll Do:
* Fabricate, erect, install, and maintain shop machinery
* Calculate dimensions and tolerance using knowledge of mathematics and instruments such as micrometers and veneer calipers
* Align and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, machines and materials onto machines
* Monitor the feed and speed of machines during the machining process

Machinists set up and operate one or more of the following machines: CNC Vertical Machining Center and CNC Horizontal Boring Mill and produce precision parts for Pharmaceutical, Nuclear and Paper Industries.
Experience with the following machines is highly beneficial:
Yama Seiki Horizontal Model BL3018S with Fanuc 18i-MB Controls
G&L Horizontal with Fanuc Series oi-Model F Plus Controls

Education/Physical Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED
Willingness to operate overhead cranes to load and unload machine
Must be able to complete and pass a physical assessment
Must be able to perform the essential functions of the job with or without accommodation
Every day repetitive wrist, finger, or hand movement including gripping and wrist torqueing
Every day standing, walking, bending, crouching, and stooping
Every day lifting 25 to 50 pounds
Exposure to moving machinery, dust, dirt, and grease

Skills/Qualifications:
5+ years of experience as a machinist
Strong drawing reading skills plus an understanding of GD&T
Demonstrated safety awareness and training in a manufacturing environment
Strong measuring and inspection skills
Must have an understanding of the different speeds, feeds, and their relation to material
Experienced using hand and power tools
Ability to work in a team environment; strong time management skills
Self-motivated and able to keep a clean, organized work space
Duties:
Setup and Operate CNC Machines with Fanuc Controls (G Code)
Ability to program and edit programs at the machine
Ability to think and plan through the complete machining process
Select and set all tooling
Machine, deburr, and inspect parts to drawing specs
Ability to machine on a wide variety of materials such as stainless, carbon, aluminum, and exotic metals in the forms of forgings, bar stock, castings, plate or weldments
Ability to setup and verify allowances and machine complex weldments
Ability to take direction and constructive criticisms
