Job Description EHC is seeking a Manual Machinist for a leading supplier of pumps, valves and services in Port Arthur, Texas. This candidate will report to the Site Supervisor. The job duties consist of running various shop machines including lathes, mill machines, horizontal, milling, drilling, boring, grinding, etc. Pay $24 to $36/hr DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Calculate dimensions & tolerances using knowledge of mathematics and instruments. Select, align, and secure holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments, accessories, and materials on machines. Operate various types of machine tools to perform progressive machining. Measure, examine, and test completed units to detect defects and ensure conformance to specifications. Detect malfunctions or out-of-tolerance machining and adjust machine controls as necessary. Quality assurance. Inspect machinery for needed repairs, documents them, make minor repairs. Maintain log of time spent on jobs. Perform general housekeeping to maintain a clean work area and shop. Read and use machinist scales and indicators. Follow and adhere to all safety rules, regulations. Wear appropriate PPE. Follow and adhere to all quality protocols. Has the knowledge and ability to run multiple machines in the shop independently without any assistance or training.
