A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A MAIL PROCESSOR

  • As a Mail Processor, you will spend most of your time handling electronic and paper mail in an office environment - sorting, organizing, delivering, and sending. You will independently and correctly scan, save, and email documents. You will efficiently and thoroughly manage digital document filing, including encrypted documents and email correspondence. You will excel at processing reports in both electronic and paper form, providing excellent customer service to Firm employees.
  • You will assist in mail pick up and delivery in the Peoria area. You must have a valid drivers license and reliable transportation.

QUALIFICATIONS TO BE A MAIL PROCESSOR

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Prior office or law firm experience a bonus
  • Must have strong computer skills working with Microsoft Office
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Outstanding organizational skills
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
  • Must have a valid driver's license and reliable transportation

BlueCross, as a federal contractor, may be required to implement a COVID-19 vaccine mandate.

Job Responsibilities

* Keeping mailroom equipment and supplies in good condition and reporting when something needs repair or replacement.
* Determining, affixing, and recording postage on registered mail and packages.
* Distributing and collecting incoming mail and/or processing outgoing mail.
* Tracking volume and distribution of mail for reporting purposes. Verifying quantity of received goods against invoices.
* Must be willing to work a flexible schedule rotating start times
* Ability to lift a maximum of 40-60 pounds
* Ability to walk and stand the majority of each work day

Additional Information

Start times for this position are as follows:

1st week - Monday 3:45am Tues. - Friday 5:00am

2nd week - Monday - Friday 7:30am

3rd week - Monday - Friday 8:00am or 9:00am

Must be available for occasional Saturdays during weeks with a holiday.

Candidates with experience at mail and/or fulfillment facilities preferred.

Employees who are required to operate either a BCBST-owned vehicle or a personal or rental vehicle for company business on a routine basis* will be automatically enrolled into the BCBST Driver Safety Program. The employee will also be required to adhere to the guidelines set forth through the program. This includes, maintaining a valid driver's license, auto insurance compliance with minimum liability requirements; as defined in the "Use of Non BCBST-Owned Vehicle" Policy (for employees driving personal or rental vehicles only); and maintaining an acceptable motor vehicle record (MVR). *The definition for "routine basis" is defined as daily, weekly or at regularly schedule times.
