*Responsibilities:*
* Provides physical therapy services to clients according to a physician's written order and therapist plan of care.
* Implements the care plans for clients developed by the supervisory Physical Therapist.
* Provides direct physical therapy treatment to clients as assigned.
* Instructs clients and family members in the use and care of therapeutic appliances and devices, such as wheelchairs, braces, etc.
* Assists in assessing the client's need for physical therapy devices and interventions.
* Reports to physician, PT, RN or branch management as necessary regarding the client's response/reaction to treatment or a change in condition
*Minimum Qualifications:*
* Licensed PTA within the State of Michigan
* Graduation from a two-year college-level program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association.
* Minimum of six months experience under a qualified Physical Therapist.
* Home health experience preferred
* Must be able to function in a practice environment with minimal direct supervision, accepting personal responsibility for maintaining a professional relationship with the agency's clients and their families.
* Must accept responsibility for maintaining clinical practice skills learning and adhering to agency's policies and procedures on an on-going basis.
* Ability to consistently demonstrate commitment to the mission and Organizational Code of Ethics and adhere to the Compliance Program.
* Must have current Driver's license and reliable transportation to and from work site.

Job DescriptionDescription:
The MassageTherapist enhances health and well-being through hands-on manipulation of muscles and other soft tissues of the body. This position requires face-to-face leadership in these programs and may involve early morning, evening, and weekend responsibilities based on client needs.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Gives massages in a variety of modalities: Swedish, Reflexology, Deep Tissue, Aromatherapy, Sports, Relaxation, Prenatal, Chair, etc. Operates heat lamps and related equipment
Keeps linen and towel supplies stocked
Maintains all areas in clean, presentable fashion
Handles member complaints
Performs any other functions necessary for the smooth and efficient operation of the YMCA of Greater Grand Rapids Association
COMPENSATION
$25.00 - $31.82 ; Part-Time, Non Exempt (up to 25 hrs/week)

Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
Current massage therapy certification required.
High school diploma or General Education Diploma (GED); one to three years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and training.
Ability to interact with people of all ethnic backgrounds, ages, and lifestyles
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATION
Must have current, recognized Massage Therapy Certification
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) (required)
First Aid Certification required within the first 60 days
AED-Oxygen Certification required within the first 60 days
Blood Borne Pathogen training
State of Michigan criminal background clearance (ICHAT)
